The problem here is handing out titles that could be perceived as members of the a organisation. It would be much better to make sure all titles have customer in the name.

Agreed, or make it a rule that they have to have a bold disclaimer under their title, along the lines of:

"I am only a customer, the views I post are mine alone and I have no authority to post any information on behalf of Vodafone"

That thread is hilarious. The "community champion" with the image signature and the Star Trek emblem. For someone just logging on to the forum for the first time with no knowledge about it I would think he's an employee. He doesn't half stick up for them though does he? I like Vodafone but my god they're making Three bad decisions aren't they?

Ironically Vodafone used to officially post on this forum under a Vodafone staff account, does anyone remember that? I do

When I ran the What Mobile forum, they also contributed to that too. They were one of the only networks that did.

Seems they how think it can be outsourced to network fanboys.

I remember that, they were pretty clued up contributors as well.

An unfortunate symptom of just how wrong they have gone.

You supposedly get promoted to Community Champion (CC) by making loads of posts, getting thanks and your posts marked as answers. The majority of thanks I (and supposedly others) get are from the Vodafone admins and sometimes CCs so there is risk that those who agree with the official line are most likely to get 'promoted'.

I got promoted on the EE forums. God knows how I'd only done a few i think.
It was after I said WiFi calling now live!! and some "community guy" went "What, when.... how do you know??!"
"Because I'm using it now I said!" etc etc....
Or something like that!!

I got temp banned on the EE forum for calling out one of their stupid version of the community champion as well, idiot with a superiority complex who aggressively spoke down to every poster with an issue. Then I couldn't remember the password so didn't bother posting anymore .

ps

Who is taytos? He must be a member here with his "insult to infants" post in reply to the reply to Devon's post on the Voda forum.

That's him, I think he ran coach trips for channel 4 at one time . Even though he was the "Android Expert" he was all over the iPhone section telling people how stupid they were.

I remember we were all online (7th April i think) when someone (can't remember who, but well done them : ) said "iOS8.3 is out now" and all hell broke loose. We all had WC in about 5 minutes.
I went over there and posted that it was live and he questioned me!! WTF???
Eventually he conceded but what was that all about?

It might also be because EE (T-Mobile) spent a lot of money on their 3G network whereas Vodafone never did. I'm sure Vodafone are spending millions a day but you have to spend lots to catch up, let alone exceed.

Yeah, sort of. I didn't take offence, after all I knew I was right. I was bloody using it right there!!
Weird, as he could often be really helpful but then you'd mention iPhone and he'd throw a fit!
I mean Android is not my cup of tea but it works and it's fit for purpose. I don't go all crazy when one of my customers rings up and ask an Android question.
I'd be unemployed rather then self employed!

If they don't get a move on it's gonna bite them really bad.
Data explosion coming. Like in a minute, not in a few years.
People will want data EVERYWHERE and will expect it.
They need to start spending billions right now or it's game over.

Imagine if there was some huge law suit against them for some hypothetical situation.
Like for example Volkswagen. Volkswagen seem to be able to pull Two thousand quadrillion, trillion, billion, million out of the hat.... just like that!
Vodafone could do the same in that situation.
I know, why not spend a fraction of that on upgrades and compete with EE for "best network on the planet".
Life's too short *
That's what I'd do.

* Well unless we get age reversal in the next 30 years in which case, see you in 2200!!! Happy new year in advance.....
Could happen.....

Solid point you made Devon on the forum. They need to upgrade them which will be a harder challenge for them than for EE. As much as we all seem to be pushing EE as the network of the future at the moment I think we have to support Vodafone a bit because the competition will keep EE in check price wise and network upgrading wise.

I've corrected my keyboard induced spelling mistakes now. Damn them!!!
Nice reply there.
Lee is "a customer just like me". Seems like a nice bloke.
Unfortunately for him it's improved for me so much that I don't think Vod have a cat in hell's chance of winning me over, you never know..... once BT take over!!
Hahahaha

Kind of what I was trying to do.
Don't go in all "EE is bloody brilliant, you lot are shite"! but try to gently suggest that maybe just possibly Vod have the resources if they so wished to challenge EE if not wipe the floor with them..... if they really wanted to.
We do need that competition particularly now that BT are taking over.
