I read on here that she donated her fee to a cancer charity so she'll probably get sanctioned by her job centre and not be eligible for any benefits for a while.

As she has clearly stated, she came off benefits once she was going onto CBB. Obviously she won't be going back onto benefits as she will have a certain amount of money.

I've never heard her say she'd donated her fee, she made it pretty clear that she needed that money. Where on here did you read it, was it a link or just an FM with no link?
Why didn't she just get a regular job instead of being on benefits for years? Did she even try to look for work?

Well, if she was claiming Jobseekers Allowance she would have to have been looking for work - you get sanctioned if you don't, you get sanctioned if you sneeze these days!
However, if she was on incapacity benefit or some other sickness-related benefit, who knows.
She never actually stated which benefits she'd been in receipt of.

She would no doubt have gone onto ESA when she was ill (fair enough) but would have signed off as fit to work to do bb so will now need to go on Jsa and look for work etc. to be fair her benefit status is not really relevant to bb

It's always smart for these people at the Z list level of the entertainment industry to have other skills and other qualifications to fall back on when the acting or singing work dries up. I guess she was on an incapacity benefit, if she was depressed. She obviously doesn't have any skills to get a decent job, which explains why she is such a bitter person I suppose.

It was on the Jim OBE thread. I've just reread it and the post actually says that Linda has donated to breast cancer awareness and Ollie is donating his BB fee to charity.
Maybe I misunderstood and the poster was saying Linda had previously donated to charity, not that she was donating her BB fee.

How do you know how long she was on benefits, or what they were? Presumably during the long period of her cancer treatment and subsequent infection, she was too unwell to work. Was that all right, do you think? And since then she has obviously been doing some work if she has done respite fostering, which is paid, and honorable work.

That was obviously quite all right; but there must be special rules for Linda, including a fatuous claim by a forum member that he has "reported her to the benefits fraud department".
Incapacity benefit is a non means tested benefit anyone who is ill, disabled in certain ways eg deaf, other Heath problems eg heroin or alcohol dependent can claim. I think this benefit has gone now it was on top of anything else us got The pas sported benefit for those who can't work is esa

She won't need to go onto JSA at the moment as she's just made a pretty tidy sum from her appearance on BB and nobody wants to sign onto JSA if they can possibly help it, it's a demoralising system that vilifies those that can't find work.
One can only hope that she finds at least a modest source of income in some way. Didn't she say she was also fostering or something?
I'm uncomfortable talking about this really lol, it seems to have been started to try and make Linda look bad or benefit claimants look bad, when we really don't know much about her situation or anything. At the end of the day, she was open about being on benefits and open about coming off them to go onto BB. She isn't currently claiming benefits.

It will though disqualify her for benefits for some time
You'd imagine, with Linda no longer being in the house, that people on here would move on. But no. Linda remains a hot topic of discussion.

There's nothing wrong with being on benefits if you can't take care of yourself for a while, just as long as you're honest. But she would have been wise to seek some qualifications and develop other skills because she was never going to have any longevity in the entertainment industry

If she is unfit to work through ill health she is unfit to foster. Her local Social Services need to do their job properly, she obviously slipped through the vetting system. You have to be fit and healthy in body and mind by law (i.e. 1973, 1989 and 2000 children acts and amendments) to foster children.

Hmm, not sure about that ,what is her voice like? I know that Bernie was the one with the talent, not sure what she sounds like out of the Nolans comfort zone.
