Why are people so obsessed with Linda's employment status? We must have had anything between 50 and 100 housemates in the past who have been on benefits prior to doing bb, including one very affluent (and adored) housemate who openly laughed that he was on the dole "for a bit of pocket money". That was obviously quite all right; but there must be special rules for Linda, including a fatuous claim by a forum member that he has "reported her to the benefits fraud department".”
From what I read, NOT from Colleen before I am jumped on and mauled, when she was having follow up chemo after her breast cancer surgery her husband died of cancer. When she was well enough she returned to Blood Brothers, then not surprisingly with all of that PLUS, in quick succession, depression stopped her from working. What a terrible sin! Considering the amount of tax she will also have paid over the years too! I do try to ignore most of the imaginary drivel spouted about her. The abject cruelty towards her however is sickening to say the least. From such a short time of watching anyone on TV, it is also wholly unacceptable. Incredulous when SHE is being accused of nastiness!
In answer to the OP no-one can claim benefits with capital exceeding around £19,000 I think.
