Although I'm no fan of Linda's if she was unable to work or find work she was entitled to benefits and I'd be happy for her if her situation improves after her appearance in the show.
If it's true that she's planning to donate some or all of her appearance fee then I respect that very much!

She'll do a couple of paid womens magazines interviews, bleating about how awful it was jim winning BB, then its back onto the dole.

She'll milk the whole Jim thing for a while with any rag that'll pay her, who knows how long that cash will last, who cares really?

I think the three comments above yours are typical of people who seem to think she had a few hits with the nolans in the early 80's and has been on benefits ever since. She HAS had longevity, her voice is obviously good enough to sustain a long career in musical theatre (and someone on here who saw her said she was 'brilliant') and 'all her hard work' brought her to the position of someone with a long and respected musical career to look back on. Better than most of us.

Has there ever been a more misplaced use of the word 'obviously'? No, she 'obviously' didn't; incredibly they know a lot more about her personal and medical circumstances than we do. You don't even have to be 'fit and healthy': http://www.bemyparent.org.uk/info-fo...ty,113,AR.html As always, people are assessed individually.

Brilliant.

Linda may have lymphoedema as a result of having her breast removed as they possibly removed her lymph glands also. This would explain the swelling in her arm and her need to wear a stocking from time to time.

If Linda does have lymphoedema then it's possible that she will receive benefits.

Let's not get carried away because she claimed benefits at one time... many people fall on tough times at some point and that's what the benefit system is there for.
She actually has got a decent voice and even after she originally left the Nolans she has worked for donkeys years! She did a ten year stint alone at Blackpool Central Pier and has appeared in 'Blood Brothers' etc including numerous things.
Couldn't abide her in Celebrity Big Brother but I also believe in fairness and lambasting her for a benefit claim is SAD!

She does a low calorie option.

It wasn't a reply, but a question - which you haven't answered, so I will make my own assumption, inane or not.

And, show me where I 'denied' her career, or even mentioned it - exactly, I didn't!.

It was she herself who brought up the fact she had been on benefits and it almost seemed that she was either proud of the fact or using it for the game.
