A little off topic but I'm just wondering if anybody has had the experience of meeting a comedian at one of their stand up events?

I'm planning on going to one of Jim's gigs and I was hoping to get the chance to meet him after. As I've never been to such an event I was wondering if anyone knew whether they sign autographs after the show or something?

I've been and he was really good. He was out the front chatting to people before the show and then you could go to his dressing room after the show where he would sign autographs and have a chat.

I hope you enjoy it

That's nice. How did you meet him exactly? Did he do a signing for fans after the show, wait by stage door?

I'm thinking of taking my black, homosexual, wheelchair-bound friend to meet him after a show.

Loved Rhod Gilbert. Who knew buying a duvet could be so funny?

Met quite a few comedians. Not Jim though. But I'd like to.

My Son has met Jim a number of times, he thinks he's great.

That's nice, I'm sure Jim would welcome him and have a chat with him the same as he does for everyone else

If you get the chance to see Ken Dodd seriously do it. He is old school, no swearing and a tad corny but its they way he tells them. I saw him and laughed so much it was hurting. I thought I was going to need an ambulance. I honestly don't know why it was funny most of the time but once he got going it was like being caught on the incoming tide.

Also he goes on and on and on. Take a sleeping bag - you will be there for a while, he just won't leave the stage once he starts.

My Nan used to love him, he also released albums that not many knew of. When Nan passed away one of the songs she wanted was 'Happiness' by Ken Dodd. What a lovely memory, thank you.

It was my Mum that dragged me along. She had seen him before and wanted to go, so reluctantly I went along to accompany her. I expected to be bored rigid as he isn't young, trendy or edgy etc but he was so funny. A real surprise.
