so Jim uses some one-liners to Casey that was typical of Jim's humour and he's now a dirty old man - for goodness sake !!!

Casey knows his humour,he's been cracking jokes since Day 1 in the house....and Jim knows his limits with her and what he can get away with, she wasn't offended, she laughed. He isn't fondling her breast or sucking her nipples under her jumper is he !!!!! or is he getting his w*lly out to show her - think back to what the others in the house have been doing !!! HE WAS JOKING

The families would already have met outside the house, Jims Wife and Daughter and Casey's mum, as they all do meet up there - and these families have already been in the house so everyone knows the score -- jeez, he knows the cameras are on him and where he is.

FOR SOME to use it as a weapon to imply that Jim actually 'really' wants to get off with Casey or bathe her is a cheap shot, and considering what's been going on in the house so far,,,,, to suggest that a couple of jokes with innuendos should be taken literally coming from a comedian that's known for them,.... is actually a bit rich !

When you consider some of the antics that has gone on in that house it was extremely tame especially when you consider that Jim has befriended Casey and helps her as a mate.

Wait till this thread is closed, was just about to post that I "Deeply offend" my sis-in-law daily, we have that kind of relationship, my own sister and I don't share the same kind of banter, know your audience, is KEY, Jim wouldn't have said it to Sam, they Don't share the same kind of banter as Jim and Casey!!

I was going to post that humour is being twisted into something else - the BB editing eh - a little comment here and there......put into a show and suddenly its construed as something completely different.

my point exactly - and he wouldn't have said the same to Liz, and certainly not to Linda. The only agenda he has saying jokes like that on National TV on BB is.. for a laugh... and to get Casey out of the mood she was in as she was upset.

There's no reason to close down the thread, there are a few suggesting that Jim's comments make him now a dirty old man, a pervy man, and seedy

- that is far worse than defending his comments because he is a COMEDIAN and his humour is not everybody's cup of tea, but he meant no harm and did obviously NOT mean the comments literally - thank god some posters weren't around in the 1980's to hear what was on TV back then !! they'd implode.

The overreaction has been extraordinary. I never thought it would be this bad. Are so many people so desperate to stop him winning?

I think upsetting Linda kinda did it for some, and I agree he was out of order on that - but he's not perfect. I still think he will come 2nd however now, perhaps to Dappy.

I agree with you, OP and I will be furious if he doesn't win because he made this JOKE.

I want Jim to win obviously but I'd be delighted with Dappy too. But the reaction to a simple joke is pathetic. Cringe worthy, yes but it was just a joke.

So because Jim is a comedian he can say whatever he likes, and you can fall back on the 'But he was only joking' Cop out?

I'm shocked, shocked I tell you, that there are so many shrinking violets on this forum.

It was a jokey comment, made to lighten the situation and from what I saw, it worked.

of course not - this is exactly why it sometimes isn't worth trying to explain such things --- Jim is 60, he's been in the entertainment industry for many many years, he's fronted TV shows, and he's done his stage shows for many many years - SO he knows what it means to have cameras on him from years of experience, he knows his limits on TV are very different to what he can say in his Stage Shows.

so having said that, that's why he was obviously joking, and it should be taken tongue in cheek, and of course it was cheeky, but it is Jim Davidson and it was to Casey - and bear in mind they have been bantering together the entire show. - which Casey's mum obviously saw, and that he was a support to Casey in the house too.

It's not my humour, no, but I wouldn't for a minute see anything more than what it was. It's actually the kind of humour i thought we'd hear more of from Jim, and haven't.

You know I first heard this joke about thirty years ago on a show called "The Comedians and it was on about 10 o'clock on a Saturday morning. It saddens me what people are turning a throw away line, into

Three of the HMs mums either thanked Jim or sent love to him so they're not offended by him. I laugh at every comment he makes to Casey and yes he knows exactly how and who to say it to. That's because he's a comedian with excellent timing. I wonder sometimes about how serious FMs take things. Lighten up people. Casey might be silly over Lee but she can take a joke. Why can't you.

I watched the show tonight and I don't even what joke people are referring too . Must have gone over my head .

I just find the Jim , Casey friendship cringe making and especially the fake laugh she puts on .

Casey is old enough to know what she's doing at 29 .

I agree - I think Jim should stop there though , as many could see some of his 'jokes' as going bit too far and just not 'get' him - as has happened tonight. I hope he considers this. I viewed it all as a 'joke' but I am able to see why others have a problem with him, I just don't think it's right to twist it to suggest he is being a dirty old man, when it is just HIS humour.

It's a legitimate reason to criticise him.

Well, people can feel however they feel. Some people seem to be determined to control and tell others how they should feel.

We're observers with unique perspectives, that's what this is.

There's no absolute way at interpretation/observation/perspective, because some observers feel that it was nothing more than a harmless joke doesn't make it absolute, and the other way around as well.

By the stars!
