Who would you like for the next Showrunner?

The Moff was always in the picture as RTDs successor but who do you think is the main (realistic) contender to succeed the Moff?

Please not Gatiss!

Toby Whithouse. Unlike most of the writers mentioned he actually has show running and arc plotting experience and that's more important than being able to write single episodes well.

I'm not a great fan of the stories that Gatis has brought to the series. But in his favour, if you see what he did with "Adventure" then it had loads of heart and a good attention to the proper balance and 'heft' of a character. He did a really beautiful job there of fleshing the characters out and making them feel like real people. If he can bring that to the table, he is more than welcome!

Remember that being a showrunner involves an awful lot more than just writing clever plots and dialogue.

EDIT: Didn't see clair2281's post - Whithouse would be brilliant.

Think it is allready being worked out behind the scenes. Moffat would only pass the show on to someone he really trusts and thinks will do a great job. Think it will happen next year.Christmas 2014 or an Easter 2015 special to finish Moffat's reign and bridge the gap between series 8 and 9. Will also be 10 years since Who returned. Any excuse for a celebration special episode is good for me.Clara might also leave then.S9 could begin with both a new companion and new show runner.
