notice you like your 'what if' threads. anyway, if your refering to the curator, that, as implied was supposed to be a long retired version of the doctor, so it's not like they'd actually turn him into that any time soon. Would be pretty boring if they did anyway. this week, the doctor dust's some paintings, next week the doctor gives a lecture on art, episode 3 see's the doctor chasing some yobs out of the foyer etc

All you have to do is find a moment when he may have nipped off during the Leisure Hive.
I think he is too old to play a regular doctor. I think the best idea would be to make him the Last Doctor from the future. It would be very symbolic.

considering their all one man, for him to be the real fourth doctor aged, then davison onwards would have never had the chance to exist

I'd love to see Chris Eccleston back in the show, but I know that's not gonna happen any time soon.
IMO, Chris wasn't in the show long enough. I felt his Doctor didn't get a chance to develop as much as I would've liked. Shame, really!
