In an interview with Teletext today Dermot O'Leary speaks about the possibility of him taking over from Davina on the main show.

Unfortunately the piece has now gone, but he states that although he'd be expected to say "yes" if offered, he prefers the freedom BBLB gives him. On BBLB not only can he comment on events daily, he can disagree with Big Brother!


More surprisingly though he reveals that when discussing the prospect of taking over the main show with Davina, she reveals that she is more envious of his job with BBLB.

Yeah right, let's swap salaries, bet she said that as well

BBLB is stale and well past its' best- I wouldn't mourn its passing.

Dermot was at his best in BB4 (remember all that crazy dancing and scout uniform wearing?) Davina was at her best in BB2. Both have become a bit passe but at least Dermot's CBB3 midnight-ish slot has bought the show a new freshness.

I don't have the answers but I would like to see a change in presenters/formats for eviction shows and BBLB (mostly coz it was rude).

Oh but Marcus Bentley must stay at all costs!

Would anyone miss Davina?
Both the shows would improve if repetitive telephone number reciting were minimized. Who cares about phoning? :yawn:

i love davina so im slightly biased i guess, but think about it, would it be as effective if dermot was the host of Big Brother.......

NO! She's a thick parasite with all the tact of a slegehammer.. She'd be better off going back to dervish Streetmate where she belongs.

No ..... she's an awful presenter ..... she doesn't listen, she doesn't know the scripts (which she writes), she loses her place (and she's a producer), she shouts like a trainee children's presenter, she's got awful dress sense and she's paid far too much for the little she does .....

I've said it before ..... my local weather girl could do much better .....

More power to Dermot, who works for his (much lower) salary .....

Dermot is pretty useless-he rarely seems to leave his boring script for 10 year olds with no life.He has managed to turn a promising programme into a huge enormous BORE.

Davina I find OK-some of her questions have to be careful and she had Michelle saying"No comment I'm saving the answer to that for OK magazine"all the time.

That awful droning accent from the idiot who sounds like he's practising all the time.An audible cliche.Bin him.His register is too low-he gets geordies a bad name.

I TOTALLY agree with you JayJayJay!! I'm a BIG Davina fan and proud! I think shes a great presenter and I couldn't agree with you more! Go Davina!!
Theres no denying that Dermot is a good presenter but in my eyes only davina could present the main BB show

Davina is surplus to requirement - a Donald Duck impersonator would be an ideal replacement for an ageing hack .....

However if you look back on Davinas career I think you will observe the troubles she has overcome to be one of the best in her career field.
Without Davina, Big Brother just wouldn't be the same, I couldn't see anyone else being able to give the same bubbly presentation on bb!!

im sick of people slagging off Davina, just because they fancy Dermot. she's part of the show-it wouldn't be the same without her. Plus she only does fridays dermot is on 6 days per week- if people prefer him then surely they'd rather he stayed on bblb (in its later slot its SO much better).

Who cares about her "troubles" - I don't - she's a crap presenter who got lucky and now has Endemol/C4 over a barrel because she's convinced them she's indispensable - in fact there are hundreds of TV presenters who could do the same job and dozens who could do it better - every year she makes a grand faux pas, like badgering Michelle or belittling Fed - when she comes up against someone of intellect, like GG or JM, she shows herself up as a shallow, self-interested sycophant .....

far from being surplus to requirement she is absolutely necessary and has become a key figure in this environment, AND Far from being an ageing hack, the maturity she brings to her professional career shines like a beacon to any others who would like to emulate her success!

..... erm ..... if we ever get the search facility back, look at last years' postings on the topic of Davina - there are even polls on the topic - she is far from being generally popular amongst DS FMs ..... her level of competency is frequently called into question .....

ok what does FMs mean?? And I've kind of got the idea that not many people like her, but I do so there we go
