If"winners" had entered late, would they have won?

We all know that late arrivals generally don't do that well on Big Brother - often out at the earliest opportunity.

Both Claire, Lisa and Becki were evicted after two weeks (although Claire wouldn't have been if it wasn't for a fault in the nominations process that week), and while Josh, Sophie and Tim all survived longer, none of them made it to the last week - and all voted out the first time up for eviction.

So what if Craig, Brian, Kate, Cameron and Nadia had been the late arrivals - would they have lasted long?

I certainly think Nadia would have only had a two week stay in the house!

late arrivals have a disadvantage because we've already formed opinions of the hms that have been in there from the start. I think that there's an attitude of it wouldn't be fair if a late arrival won because they hadn't done the time.
Craig won because of the Nick confrontation so he probably wouldn't have won. I don't think Brian's sense of humour wouldn't have been tolerated if he was a late arrival, he'd definately been up for eviction straight away. Cameron and Nadia wouldn't of had Endemols backing so they'd have had no chance. Can't make my mind up about Kate. 50/50 chance perhaps?
I think it is difficult for late arrivals because if they show any confidence they are seen as "cocky",so they probably supress their natural character until it's too late

Depends when they came in?

If Craig missed his moment with Nick - Anna wins.

Brian could have been in danger of being nominated before the public grew to like him but might have just grabbed them anyway as he was pretty outstanding.

Kate went through a series of ups and downs early on and essentially she had to be established as someone the audience liked before before anyone would care about her being on the poor side . The Alex/Kate/Jade/Jonny/Spencer/Alison/Sophie relationships also bed down very early in BB3 and lead to most of the situations Kate impresses in . On the other hand, Spencer and Alex were likely to meet the fates they did anyway which leaves Kate's competition as Jonny anyway.

BB4 is tough to call - if Cameron appeals enough and goes to Africa does he beat that iopposition anyway? On the other hand if he isn't there at the start do his fans watch at all and if Cameron isn't nominating early who would have gone early and who would have stayed? Could it have been a completely different house?

Nadia might work late as her story is outside the BB house anyway? If she came in , cried enough, joined a side and got even more attacks from Victor and Jason as a latecomer , she might well win by the same margin.

I dunno, don't think new arrivals will ever win. Or maybe its down to who Endemol choose.
Claire annoyed me, all she seemed to do was get her tits out for the boys
Josh seemed too cocky.
Tim was a pillock from day one, he seemed supremely confident
Sophie was fairly quiet but still got her 'man', personality wise, she just didn't have it.
Lisa was far too brash, she was also quite cocky IMO.
Jon Tickle coming back in didn't do it for me. He seemed to think he was a roving reporter. All that nonsence talking to the cameras.
Bekki was just a minger & annoyed me from the second I saw her. She was another who played up to the cameras, why do they think we like that
Seems to me Endemols' stand-ins are all the same type of people. They all seem to be over-confident, so therefore make a bad first impression.

To be fair to Lisa and Becki, they were specifically asked by BB to go in and 'stir things up'.
I dont think late arrivals have much chance of winning though.

What a great question!!!!! The answer is of course no they wouldn't....they wouldn;t have stood a chance.....they'd be booed out as well...

I never like the newcomers really........

It seems to take ages to get to know the ones who are there from the start, then just as you're getting to grips with who they are, someone new turns up........

I suppose it's the same for the HMs, 'better the devil you know' so they tend to nom the newcomer as soon as they can.

And the newcomers who stayed longest were in BB3 where 'two sides' quickly developed, more intent on nomming the other side than the newcomer.

to be honest i think they should drop the idea of putting people in after it starts as the housemates will always vote for them over peole who came in from the start.

I think thats allways going to be the case as the other housemates resent the fact that they have been in longer, and that it not fair

The best solution would be to put in 3 or 4 more housemates than they need for the show and have more double evictions, or suprise evictions

actually not a bad idea about putting extra people in but would differ slightly by leaving more in at the end,
at least if more people in at the end might be less dead in the final week
