Craig makes the decision with regard to the cast for the Strictly tour, I believe. There's never been any suggestion that he's involved with casting for Strictly itself, however.

I do not like James. I think that he is a bit rude! Shame about Ola though. I like her.

I think James & Ola could possibly be back again. This is a tweet Ola made earlier today..

“Just had a meeting with the Strictly Producer.. She is looking to make the show even bigger and better this year!”

And Aliona made a similar one yesterday...

"Bigger and better" should strike fear into true dance fans.

'Bigger and better'? A cast of 25, and more gimmicks, perhaps?

Last series it seemed to move from Strictly Come Dancing more towards Strictly Burn The Floor.

I don't think that made the show better overall. With extra dancers and celebs, it was bigger.

Bigger is easy, better would be nice but would involve a bit of a U-turn by the producers IMO.

Am guessing as Xfactor have gone all out to get Cheryl Cole back to boost ratings after Strictly thrashed them time and time again last year- then Strictly will aim to stay one (dance) step ahead again this year, With big celeb names and guest performers, it could be an entertaining winter !!

Could also see a bigger lighting rig - more lights and better projections.

'Bigger and better' to me just sounds like a euphemism for more hype and manipulation. I wonder who they'll pick to be the chosen one in the line up next year. I wasn't a fan of what this producer did last series - my least favourite series of strictly, so although I'll give it a chance I can't say I'm really looking forward to it.

And I defiintely think the strictly producers are concerned about the return of Cowell and Cheryl to X-factor which to me can only mean they'll probably up the ante on tackiness.

Agreed.

Don't they realise that "less is more"... where Strictly is concerned.

I also agree with whoever said its more like Strictly Come Burn The Floor.

Boy did Erin, Vincent and Flavia step away at the right time......

Good grief, it sounds exactly like standard issue marketing bollocks and the show will come back exactly the same.

always puzzles me whenn people compare ratings for SCD with X Factor as they are not screened against each other why?? X factor repeat their show BBC do not - X Factor screened later too so like myself usually watch SCD go out and watch X Factor next day is not rocket science they are both high rating shows

the thought of bigger and better strikes fear in my heart if we go down the path of DWTS with Jazz and Contemporary will switch off the thought of the Jordans, Aliona and Burn the floor stage dancers does not inspire either

I think it's because even though they're not in direct competition for ratings, there is a rivalry because the producers of each show want their show to be seen as the most successful - they're the flagship shows of each channel and both competing for publicity, awards etc..... I mean Cowell went to the trouble of poaching Alesha from Strictly which he saw as a move of damaging Strictly and it obviously bothers him that Strictly has been seen as the more successful show for the past few years. The BBC are no better - I think they don't want Cowell to steal their thunder so they'll definitely be worried that he and Cheryl are returning to X-factor so they'll be thinking of new and daft ways to keep strictly on top.

There is actually a lot of hate for Cheryl coming back to the x factor particularly on Facebook and she's starting a lot of arguments with Louis Walsh too - face it x factor isn't a well respected show anymore and I simply don't see any sign of a let up either.

Well I've never respected X factor and I don't know if the return of Cheryl and Cowell will revive the fortunes of that show but I do know their return will attract huge amounts of publicity.

With Brucie going, and Cowell and Cole returning to X-Factor it would be more stable for Strictly viewers to leave the current Pro's in place.

Older viewers like stability in their shows.

I was thinking the same thing. I doubt there will be any other changes to the line up this year with the host position changing. On the other hand last year saw considerable changes to the pro dance team and that went very smoothly.
If Aliona and Natalie are both in the team this year it evens us up to 8 male and 8 female pros without any changes
