@d******e @TeamAmyDerek Last week would have figured into this week's elimination. Billy Dee may have saved someone by leaving. Hmmm - not sure what to think. Tom Bergeron said to paparazzo Henry that BDW would have been leaving anyway. There have definitely been mumblings of a fix of some kind, but I don't know if that's just people winding themselves up or not ![]() It seems like Maks got his way again
Spoiler
Feel sorry for Tony that he didn't trust him but as long as she was given to the other side you know the dark side all is good Maks said a while ago this was his show well going on the evidence from this season he might be right!! Although Julianne is judging again so hard hats might be required! And I really don't get why the producers love Peta so much either! |

. Where's the light and shade? She's a great looking girl (and I love her new hairdo), but couldn't they, just once, cast her with someone a bit older or see her in a more sophisticated, classier mould? Conversely, poor Emma seems destined never to escape her given role with the older chaps ![]() The people at PureDwts have produced a list what they think are the switcheroos (as 'tweaked' by production)..... Charlie and Peta Danica and Maks James and Cheryl – Tango Drew and Witney Amy and Mark Candace and Tony Meryl and Val Cody and Sharna – Foxtrot NeNe And Derek |

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz...rehearsal.html DM, on top of the story as per usual, don't seem to know about the switch
![]() I read that the paso is not one of this week's dances, which would make Amy doing ballroom more likely. Gossip: Apparently Tony is not happy with the dance assigned to NeNe and Derek. Dunno why. And someone in 'the Fam' is not getting along with new partner (PureDwts)According to Kristyn Burtt someone was assigned their partner and then it was changed and it was not for scheduling reasons (which means not Derek and Meryl, who were almost certainly voted as the public's first choice). I wonder if she'll spill the beans eventually

Lol! I actually don't mind her at all, but I am sick to death of her always being cast in the sexpot role with the totty partners. And always dressed like.....well, a bit of tart, tbh

TBH- I'll just be very annoyed if Val and Maks just switch- if nothing else it defeats the entire point of the challenge to try different styles- at least Derek and Mark are different characters even if they're best mates.
I was really hoping one of the Chmerkovskys got Candace- who I'm really starting to dislike, she just seems a bit of a handful and not really prepared to push beyond her comfort zone any more than is necessary, which I don't think is the right attitude, and one of Maks or Val would either have had their egos put in place (which needs to happen at some point) or Candace would find out that not everybody is as placid as Mark! |

I'm fairly sure Cody is with Peta given all the hints that have been given,
Peta was supposedly seen at an airport in Florida a couple of days ago and recently tweeted about rehearsing at 7am and... @PetaMurgatroyd 3h Road trip through the Everglade ...so, unless she's going out of her way to throw people off the scent , I'd say she was on tour with Charlie. (Doesn't mean Cody couldn't be in Florida too, of course . He's meant to have been shooting a video for his song today)Val and Meryl mabe have Argentine Tango (hmm, it's one dance I'd really liked to have seen Maks do with her). Danica and Maks have jive, allegedly. @danicamckellar Goodness, the experience with my new dance partner is so different...! Still great, but different! #DWTS #switchup though rumour has it they are not getting along.. @candacecbure I'm having SO much fun with my new partner this week! I think you're gonna be surprised all around 😜 @DancingABC #DWTS ETA: Amy may have salsa (PureDwts). Can't be right, surely. She must do a ballroom sometime! |

Maks talking about the Switch and dancing with Meryl
He's clearly thrilled with Meryl, but what he says about past seasons and partners is a bit . I'm not sure Maks should be allowed out on his own when there are journalists around ![]() Maks doing a little light workout on the streets of LA. .... Lucky there was someone there with a camera - phew! ![]() http://www.glamour.com/entertainment...vis-a-cou.html More M and M stuff and also, which same sex partner would you choose for the Switch if that were an option?

![]() . Really looking forward to seeing and hearing from him. I wonder if she'll ask him anything about his 'plans' .It's a shame he'll be sharing the sofa with Jenna. I'm sure she's lovely, but they're already a chatty bunch . Do hope he manages to get a word in edgewise. Latest dance list (PureDwts): Charlie and Peta – Rumba (???) Danica and Maks – Jive James and Cheryl – Tango Drew and Witney – Cha Cha (?) Amy and Mark – Salsa Candace and Tony – Quickstep (???) Meryl and Val – Argentine Tango Cody and Sharna – Foxtrot NeNe And Derek – Jazz Apparently Tony isn't happy with TPTB for NeNe's dance choice. I'm not sure why. |

I wouldn't necessarily agree that Maks and Val are similar - Val is far more laid back and 'friendly' than Maks. If someone's used to Val's personality and then is handed to Maks I can see some tension as Maks is far more willing to be confrontational. In terms of dance style I think there are differences. It's hard to describe but I think Val is slightly the more graceful. |

Don't see why that would be a problem for Tony can't see Tony choreographing a jazz number but then again his rumba with Nene was more contemporary than his contemporary with Leah
Tired of fusion dances and people getting high marks even 10 for dance that look nothing like they are supposed to be doing )I agree about the dance style getting further and further away from anything recognisable. I've enjoyed some of the 'innovations' on DwtS but it's got to the stage now where nothing is basic, everything is freestyle and therefore (ironically) nothing makes any impact. It's all mush! |

I can only think that Tony wanted to do that dance himself. Perhaps he had a great idea, or maybe he thinks it will look silly with the difference in height and put NeNe in danger for the next elimination. Perhaps there's a reason he wanted NeNe to avoid it altogether. (Maybe it's not even true

DWTS has morphed into SYCD only with celebs.
I watched a couple of clips from the first 2 seasons because I remember people saying that Artem would occasionally sit behind the judges table when Artem and Carrie Ann were dating. I was looking to see if I could spot him. I could not help notice the much slower pace of the show, the traditional ballroom dances, the quieter interviews backstage (Samantha)...so much more elegant. What happened to what started out as a beautiful show? Did a group of rogue 21 year old producers get ahold of it. I understand the concept of evolving and it is going to be a general dance show, not ballroom dancing but it has changed so much from the beginning. I remember dwts starting out as a summer replacement show to fill the gap between seasons and it was a surprise hit - it was a simple concept the public loved. Len telling the story of the camera man insisting him not to get used to nice LA weather because the show was not gonna last for more than one season. If the ratings were so high with the original formula I can't help but wonder if the ratings are suffering because of all the tinkering they do with it. |

Fully agree with evereything you've said there Lili, not sure the Producers know what they are doing - unless its that they really wanna kill it off.
I love SYTYCD but its always been a different type of show, representing a totally different dance ethos - the crossovers between the two shows have been great down the years but DWTS (which as a Ballroom Dancing Show) had a real elegance and escapism that unfortunately seems to have tossed aside. Not sure they know who their audience is anymore.

SCD is just simple and traditional and they revamped the show to suit the fans. |

Thanks for the links.I've got to agree, with what's been said, up thread, the shows a bit of a mess. I watched it last week, but was not that enthralled by it, and didn't want to come on here and moan about it, so I just stayed away. They could do so much better, but choose not to!!! The comments on here sum it up nicely, I can't see anything changing for the better anytime soon. I may give it a go this week, just to see the 'switch up' fizzle out. http://www.today.com/entertainment/d...ind-2D79488140 http://www.nydailynews.com/entertain...icle-1.1748460 |
