Correction: I think Disney week must be next week...or Peta was being confusing....
![]() ![]() Cheryl talking about the switch Karma, I know what you mean. I'll keep watching, I think, just to fill a dance shaped hole while Strictly's on its hols, but it is a mess

Peta's blog. On James and how it's weird dancing with Charlie. This week is Disney week. Smashing
. ). She said originally that dancing with Charlie was great and like having a pro in the room. She didn't need to teach him anything, just tell him what to do and he could do it! I wondered if it was meant as a sideswipe at his ringeryness ....

This is the piece choreographed by Derek for the Macy's Stars of Dance bit. I loved it. My eye was drawn to Artem, although all the dancers are great.
Derek really is a clever so and so. Can't help thinking we may lose Artem to DWTS at some point ![]() www.youtube.com/watch?v=VAd8U5gMM5A |

I am hoping that later on someone puts up the full clip of the Macy's dance with the rehearsal. I thought it was nice of Derek to acknowlege that he is working with "world class" dancers and the camera pans over to Artem and Henry
. I do think Derek put Artem out in front for a reason. I also liked Artem's bumper with Karina. That was quite sensual. I would love for them to do a full dance together. Twitter is blowing up with Julianne's comment to Maks and I will be interested to hear what ya'all think. I think Krystin Burtt is chomping at the bit to comment and get the panel to weigh in. Hmmm. I find Julianne rambles when she comments. Some of of the body language tonight towards her from the cast was quite telling. |

I kind of agreed with Julianne, but she's not winning any fans. Is she trying to alienate herself?
Why are practically all of the dances danced at 70mph. There isn't much subtlety for the most part. |

Haven't seen all of the dances yet, but I'm (surprisingly) enjoying some of the switcheroos. Just watched Amy and Mark and thought he (and she) did a terrific job. I've been full of admiration for her all the way through, but I was starting to want to see her do more steps on her own and this week she did. In fact, salsas on DwtS are often so full of flash the technique gets lost. I really liked the tight, contained nature of this one and thought her hip action was great. Really well done to both of them!
Don't know what to make of Julianne's remarks to Maks. I'm not his biggest fan these days, but I didn't think what she said rang true at all. Did agree with Len that there was too much goofing around. Danica could have just done a straight up jive and done a great job of it, but Maks always puts time wasting moves into the dances - I don't think he did it specifically this week because he couldn't be bothered ![]() Thought the remarks about Charlie's rumba not being a rumba were spot on. I didn't see any hip action at all and could tell the foot placement was wrong. He's a lovely performer though and I love his sunny nature. Peta's face was a picture - eek! Witney surprised me. Thought she did a good job with Drew. Not too much technique on display, but lots of confidence and fun. |

With Meryl, he pulled out all the stops, choreographically and dancewise. With Danica, I know they had track issues but he seemed to go back to his old ways of disdain at times and not doing the best for his partner. The contrast between Meryl and Val was stark, he went all out, but Maks didn't do the same for Danica. Think Danica got the short straw. It was noticeable to me because I watched these pairings back to back. i preferred Meryl and Val rather than her partnership with Maks. |

Oh, by a million miles! I think Val is flat out a better choreographer and dancer than Maks. He really challenged and pushed Meryl and they're a much better match physically. Even with a gift like Meryl, Maks choroegraphs fannying around on the stairs and long, lingering looks. I think it's just what passes for creativity and storytelling in his book

The judges were right, he needs to submit to the genre ![]() Loved the Macy's dance ![]() The partnering of Tony and Candace hmmm not sure about the track or costumes, she was struggling to keep up and the gapping was an issue. Noticed Mark didn't interact with her or come over to join in the partnership with Tony, don't think he seemed that interested, just stood on the sidelines. James and Cheryl, not getting the gushing over his abilities, thought he was a bit wooden still. Cody's doing his own thing again and even Sharna couldn't contain his Cody-isms. His technique is still lacking, he is still doing his pop ballroom. Don't know if it was because of the singers coming in too early but NeNe could have been dancing on her own for all the interest she took of Derek. She looked like she was almost ignoring him. Maybe it was a case of trying to keep on track but it was a bit rabbit trapped in the headlights look from her. She did well though and she looked more natural but this jazz dancing seems very non discript. Peta and Charlie - underwhelmed by it and seemed to follow Mark's choreo for his rumba, veering more towards contemporary, than ballroom. He had poor hip action and whose idea was it to slick his hair back. Much prefer Charlie and Sharna. Yes Macy's Dancing was a hit for me, helped along by more than a glimpse of Artem.

When is Len going to give a 10. I loved Meryl's performance.
I know Carrie Ann and Len caused an uproar about Charlie's Rumba, but I do agree with them, it was more CONTEMPORARY than RUMBA. |

Thanks for all the links, Karma ![]() Quote:
"Real Housewives of Atlanta" star NeNe Leakes, who was temporarily partnered with Julianne’s brother, Derek Hough, supported the guest judge. Ouch, NeNe!
“I have to agree with Julianne,” Leakes said. “It felt like (Maks) wanted to be back with Meryl — he probably does! What professional dancer doesn’t want to dance with another professional dancer?” |

Ouch, NeNe! Diana when she left, made me laugh when she said, she knew she was in trouble, when Meryl pirouetted towards the food.

1st we better not lose Artem because I would miss him on strictly but can we please have Karina as his pro partner that is the most natural pro partnership I seen him in
2nd so glad to see the Macy's dance back loved it Artem stole my attention especialky being front & centre and Derek saying about world class talking about Artem, Henry & Katherine who is amazing but can anyone tell me who was the other dancer with Sasha? Heard his name is Jonathan but didnt recognise him Now onto the switch Tony & Candice - like this partnership think they suit each other better than Candice & Mark Cheryl & James - didnt think this would worked but it did, would be a bit of a height difference if they were partners Witney & Drew - loved this partnership nice to see what Witney can do Mark & Amy - it was ok nothing special would prefer seeing salsa with Derek tbh wish she had been given Val to see how she cope with someone completely different Mark & Derek are different but they are more alike than even Val & Maks are Sharna & Cody - disappointed wish that Karina was a choice and would have been picked for Cody because she & maybe Cheryl too are the only ones who could knock him into shape. He is in his own wee popstar world he is too busy being Cody Simpson to actually knuckle down & learn anything it is all about him his dancing, his image his style. It is all about promoting him & not learning how to dance. Didn't like the start or his no neck high shoulders. Maybe I'm being harsh here but to me you can see the difference by looking at James and Cody. I know he is younger but he should be on the show to learn something. Peta & Charlie - didnt see much rumba tbh agreed with Len & Carrie-Ann very similar to Sharna's contemporary piece but not half as good. Would have like to see Sharna and Charlie do a proper rumba. Derek & NeNe - obvious height difference should have been with Maks didn't like it originally but re watched & it was better. NeNe has admitted that they had music problem as well as Maks & Danica and you can see how that put her and Derek off once you know about it. Would have like NeNe to do more but showed her personality Val & Meryl - fantastic wish this was a permanent switch even tho I liked Danica and Val too Val challenged Meryl and she actually looked like a dancer not an ice skater trying to dance. For once it wasn't a lyrical dance for Meryl Maks & Danica - agreed with Julianne it was obvious that Maks was marking time until he got Meryl back I agree with Maks that she needs to get out of her head and feel the dance instead of being so mathematical about it which was my only problem with her contemporary last week (technically great but needed more feeling) but if that is how she learns he needed to tweek his teaching to suit his student he seem to not care disappointed that we won't see Val and Danica doing a jive would prefer that she got Derek as a partner and Nene got Maks |

I saw this twitter. Yikes
@PureDerekHough @puredwts @DWTSMaksimFans @Team_Jeta @PUREDANCINGAndy @DWTSGossip @Voguerista @Artem_World Wanted to update you guys on my current situation uploading DWTS....For the 1st time in four years of doing them, Disney the parent company of ABC & visual content owner is going after me! They have now blocked 3 videos in the past two weeks (in the U.S.) & just gave my channel a copyright strike for a DWTS related GMA video...nothing like this has ever happen but the situation has changed! I guess they feel my videos are costing them viewers on TV & all that advertisement! I think that's unlike to be reality....then main demographic for that show is not surfing YouTube looking for videos! But now I have to think if I can go forward without risking more strikes...3 & the channel goes down!! Maybe holding off until the show is over to start uploading them may help?? Just not sure what I will do...but they have clearly sent me a message that they don't feel my uploads are a benefit to the show! I will let you know before next Monday what im likely to do...just understand I want to continue as is but for the survival of the channel, I might change how I do things! Would appreciate your feedback....and thxs for all the support...maybe im just to good at what I do & ABC/Disney isn't happy about it! Al (aka..TheVocalVault) |

I am thinking that when they do the trios that Artem will be asked by one of the other pros to take part. I would hate for you guys to miss seeing that or the rest of the videos for that matter.

Al (aka..TheVocalVault) ![]() That's really unfair for people not in USA if ABC aren't willing to open their site for people here to watch it then people are going to have to watch it through YouTube or other methods and thevocalvault does a great job. Also I think I was a bit unfair to Amy and Mark earlier it was a great routine just quite repetitive and didn't like the music but I liked she did more by her self & she had great hip action. |
