So, Charlie and Sharna are doing a jazz routine to Supercalifrigalistic along with umbrellas. They already did contemporary, which means this time couples can do both (bleurgh! ). Does this mean they can have jive and swing, tango and AT, waltz and VW??? Maks and Meryl are dancing samba to I wanna be like you from Jungle Book and Maks isn't happy about production pushing him into being a character he doesn't want to play who was a 10 year old boy in the film

The Disney themed week doesn't sound that brilliant tbh, seems the interests of promoting Disney on DWTS are coming to the fore. That's not to say I didn't enjoy Disney music etc, as a child. How well Disney music translates into a whole show is anyone's guess.

James Maslow is getting hotter each week and I thought he was the best of the night.

Nene was fabulous but I think she will go, however it should be Candace. She is not great however other forums say she has a large fan base.

Really looking forward to Mak's face tomorrow night.As it's Disney night I think we can expect a major cringefest.

Just watched the dances, (and read the scores, didn't spoil the elimination, or see the VT's/judges comments) since the show doesn't seem to be up anywhere yet.

Looks like everyone had tons of fun this week.
Disney Owning ABC, obviously helped, it didn't hurt that every dance had a recognisable tune.

The High production values and special effects were a nice touch.

Quick thoughts about a few.

Candace was a surprising to me, A samaba to "under The Sea" I suppose being done up like Aerial helped, but she was really good.

Cody and Witney Samba to "just can't wait to be king" defintely made me forget about Mark and Iveta (finally!!) Witney of course looked stunning. it was fun but was not up there with Candace and Mark's.

Danica and Val quickstep to "Be Our Guest" Again Danica being in Belle Cosplay must have helped, the site of the troupe as dishes etc was a bit distracting, but fun dance.

Drew and Cheryl, quickstep to "friend like me" another fun dance, drew was surprisingly nimble on his feet.

Meryl and Maks samba to "king of the swingers" wasn't really feeling this one compared to the other sambas, obviously very good technically, but felt there was something missing.

James and Peta, contemporary to "let it go" pretty damn good with some nice lighting effects on the floor, Peta of course in full on Elsa cosplay.

My favourite of the night was Charlie and Sharna's Jazz to "supercalifragilisticexpialidocious"

Sharna looked like Julie Andrews, and, a small glitch aside, the prop work and intricacies of the routine were top notch, and let's face it that song is the best.

The troupe as the old school rag time band were a nice touch

It looked like a fun show l;ast night, so I want to see the VT's now.

I didn't like James and Peta's dance at all. To little content, to much faffing about (Len would say on Strictly) and James looked very stif to me. I still can't believe he got 4 10s!! Can somebody explain why this dance deserved 10s? I have seen much better dances in the last 4 weeks. Mostly from Meryl and Charlie but also from James.

I didn't mind the dance but I didn't love it either. It was very much showcasing Peta with James playing support and I found the dance a bit 'spiky' (maybe they were being really literal and icicle-y ). I wonder if the 4 10s were just part of a narrative to make it look like someone other than Meryl and Charlie is in with a chance

I must admit the scoring was bonkers this week. Didn't Nene get 4 9s?! I guess she sold the routine, but, a bit like Cody Cody-fying everything, she just seems to want to impose her own NeNe-ness on everything and to heck with the actual dance. And what was with the drama in the training room. I was half expecting Len to do his, 'You just need to turn up, put up and shut up!' routine for all her attitude, but they praised her to the skies. I was feeling really bad for Tony (who I don't much care for) and then he behaved like a truculent child at the judging table . Most peculiar.

And whilst I'm having a moan (), I wish Maks would stop pawing at Meryl and slobbering over her all the time. It's giving me the creeps! (although I did quite like their samba despite the inappropriate music and horrible role-play he was pressed into).

Charlie's lovely and Sharna looked fab. Their routine was fun, but a bit frantic for me.

Glad Candace stayed. She's not the best, but she's really into the whole thing and cares about it, which goes a long way in my book. I hated her costuming, but thought Mark's crab claws were hilarious (in an awful way )

Was Cheryl serious about her feelings being hurt? I like Drew and their dance was fine, but I was distracted by his open mouth. His posture wasn't great.

Danica had a ball and I thought she did a great job with a nice routine. I liked Val's guyliner . Maybe my fave dance of the night.

Amy finally tackled ballroom and it was clear from what Derek said they've been delaying it (perhaps for her to get her confidence up?). I must say, I wasn't any clearer by the end why ballroom would be more difficult for her than latin. I appreciate it's all hard, but would have thought being in hold would have helped . Anyone know why? I was a little uncomfortable with what CAI said and wish the judges would offer her more constructive criticism rather than just gush. The dance was sweet but too much smoke (literally) and mirrors.

Cody? Can't remember anything apart from his droopy trews. Felt bad for Witney. She looked really disappointed to be leaving, but I think she'll be back. She was great with Drew

Lol Soupy, got to agree with your view mostly. I just couldn't summon the enthusiasm to write it.

I thought James danced well this week, but the choreo was disjointed, think it was supposted to be like that to fit in with the lighting and animation effects. Didn't get the wow factor from any of the dances tbh. The 9's and 10's are meaningless now, because they are thrown about like confetti.

Ha Mark's crab claws, too funny, talk about being a bit too literal with the concept. I thought they looked like oven gloves. Candace's costume and wig a bit distracting also.

I thought Maks looked youthful this week, almost boyish, The samba wasn't bad, not that keen on the animation, it seemed to spoil the flow of the routine. I have to laugh at his ego, it's all about him, even Meryl seems to humour him, in the skybox interviews. Yes he's rather over familiar with Meryl, she doesn't seemed that concerned though!

I thought Charlie was a bit messy in his dancing, but it was a packed routine, and the prop mishap didn't help.

Cheryl hasn't got over Witney doing better with Drew, could tell by her face last week she wasn't amused. Yes Drews gaping mouth was a bit odd. I much preferred his pairing last week, he seemed to come alive and really perform.

Cody still doing his own thing, every week's been the same. I was surprised he got the boot, thought the screaming girlies would have voted for him. Lol at his trousers, I spent the whole time watching them flap about, thought he had improved a bit this week but not enough to make a difference.

Was NeNe's strop, just to try and drum up some interest in the show, didn't come across as genuine to me. Tony trying to placate, her but looking perplexed at the same time. Then she stormed out, in a huff because she wanted to talk about what she learned from The Hough last week.

I felt bad for Nene this week. Its obvious the VT was fake to start interest for a series that is falling in viewers because the twists are ruining it. Also Carrie Ann saying you play the villain well!?!?! What are the producers doing this season. Its just a mess.

Not to be nasty or cruel but Amy's VT was also beyond emotional blackmail. "I just wish I had legs". Sorry but it was inappropriate to show IMO as we should see her trying to learn the dance. I think she was way over scored.

As for Maks he is drooling over Meryl and its as the over forum member said "creepy". Maks is too old. Sorry lol

Love Charlie. I want him to win. James was great but I did not think that was a perfect score. However DWTS always gives a perfect score. Its in the contract with the Judges to at least score 30 / 40 at about week 5.

Maks is 34 and Meryl is 27, so not a huge difference. I think he's drooling because he's pleased that she's so good. Meryl and Charlie should not be on the show - of course they are good! Charlie's Rumba was crap though and I thought his jive was a bit flat-footed.

The scoring is just ridiculous. A perfect score for THAT? Come on.

Thanks for these. It's hard to keep up with all the 'extra' bits and pieces. There's the 'on the carpet' interviews as well which are pretty much the same content as the Access Hollywood clips.
Is James maybe overreacting to the baby remark ? I read his blog on Parade and he complained in that too. Peta managed to shrug it off without a fuss.
I hope NeNe and Tony are ok this week and back on track.
Agree the marking is ridiculous. Would love to see the judging panel replaced with 'proper' judges from the ballroom world. There are plenty of them available.

I think from those links I posted it just confirms suspicions, that they script the drama for the show, rather than it being true! I suppose it can work for or against you, Peta would be used to it, but it's new for James. Another article Wendy Williams wrote about it, she said I'm not the 'angry black woman' I'm being portrayed as, and Tony said, my wife said I should have warned you about that. So sounds like the pros are well aware of the machinations behind the scenes. She said, Maks had a memo one week, saying he and Hope, were at the bottom of the score board, so he created some drama and they were kept in!!!! I thought NeNe and Tony's spat was manufactured, they were not that good at acting, very hammy. Thing is if they've got to resort to those measures to keep interest, it doesn't say a lot for the show.

I was also suprised that Cody was allowed to sing in one of his routines, whereas with James, there had been no mention of his singing, the focus had all been on Cody. Still it didn't help Cody stay in, but then, I felt he was only really there to up his music profile.

I am shocked Meryl is 27.

Her voice makes her sound 5 years younger.
