Haven't had chance to watch yet - she was great last time she was on.
Afterbuzz: Week 8
I enjoyed week 8 more than Latin Week. Nice to see some ballroom and less super-sized, kitchen-sink choreography. The opening number was fun and some nice bits of dancing, but I reckon Marky should stick to his spats

.
I thought
Charlie and Sharna's QS was pretty darn good and the music was great. I wish he'd worn somthing more flattering and I didn't think it was really worth a perfect score (he looked a bit 'squatty' to my eyes) but they give out so many, so why not give one to Charlie? Abby Lee Thing was completely out of line saying he should slick his hair down, 'no bouncy hair in ballroom'. Gah! The audacity!
Wasn't keen on the music or the concept for
Danica and Val's tango but when I watched it without the sound, I could appreciate she was sharp and precise and looked really good. Unfortunately they only took hold for about 30 seconds and the rest was theatrics and posturing, so I'm a bit on the fence. Nasty shoes.
I have a similar issue with Maks and
Meyl's rumba, in that, while I liked what rumba she did, thought she was very expressive and acted really well, I'd have liked more actual dance content. I didn't hate the concept but suspect Maks maybe thought he was creating great art. I rather think he was disappearing up his own fundament.
I really liked that
Candace and Mark had a fun routine that she performed well and confidently, but I would have liked more proper foxtrot. There seems to be a theme developing

. Didn't like her orthopedic looking shoes. Lots of 'orrible shoes this season.
James. Oh, dear, James. Terrible posture. (
Sasha said in his blog that James really nailed the posture

. I think Emma really needs to talk him down!) He bores me. I hope he goes next.
Well, Derek and his stool choreo got folk all worked up, didn't it?!

I really liked
Amy's AT and, though I could have done
without the 20 seconds sitting, other couples had longer fafforamas, so I feel a bit shruggy about it. She was super sharp and precise and made some amazing shapes. If anything, I thought it was a bit clinical and lacking in character, so don't think it deserved a perfect score, but I saw more appropriate content than in many of the other routines.
The duets were interesting and I quite liked them (as gimmicks go

). Loved
Candace and Charlie. Each really working to their strengths. All four looking fab and I liked the story. The jive was good and in sync and again, both
Amy and James were strong. I didn't enjoy
Danica and Meryl's samba, but that was possibly a combination of a more difficult dance, horrid music and the two girls having to dance side-by-side rather than as partners which just emphasised a little lack of sync. Hated the wedge sneakers.
I didn't like the tension in the samba rehearsal and felt as if Danica was being pushed out of the supposed family (note how Val didn't support her in the little VT when she was looking for a bit of reassurance). She might be a bit socially awkward, intense and geeky. Perhaps she's hard work to be around for hours on end, but I didn't like Maks being rude to her while surrounded by his brother and his princess, effectively isolating her

. I wondered right at the beginning if Val even liked her and I'm still not convinced. She was gracious at the end though - really hope she enjoyed her experience.
Not sure what to make of Maks' comments about Abby LM. Almost everyone on set seemed to hold her in contempt, but she was a guest in their house, and you should be polite to guests even if you don't like them. You have to wonder why they invited her though. Oh, yeah. For the chatter. Silly me.
