While at first I was against them together, I think it could work. Certainly better than either one of them with Doug.

I think it's only a matter of time before Ste finds out what Finn did.
I think that this pairing is intriguing if they are going that direction. It certainly would be the most interesting pairing of JP's since Craig. I never liked any other pairing JP was put in before. We'll see where it goes.
In the end though I will always believe that Mcdean will find their way back to each other no matter how many breakups they had unless one of them dies. They were always that on and off intense soulmate couple to me. HO don't even think about killing one.

For me McDean and Stendan are the soulmates, but I still think McHay could be very entertaining/good for each other.
Their friendship is believable even though they used to hate each other. I think when Ste finds out about the rape he will be there for JP.

Well, I am a fan of this potential couple as well.
So am I right in assuming JP/Ste will happen in the future? I do like the idea of them being together, they both deserve a bit of happiness and they could help each other. What I like about them is that despite being so different they have connected through their history, and have been there for each other when others haven't in the past few months.
If they do start a relationship though I would like to see how they would handle the emotional trauma JP would be suffering from. As a victim of rape JP would realistically, and understandably, have problems with being intimate.
It is safe to say Ste has feelings for JP, but I am starting to think JP is also starting to have the same for Ste too.

I think he cares about Ste but I don't think he 'meant' it, JP is not ready for a relationship after everything that has happened to him but maybe when all the Finn stuff comes out they can eventually become a couple. Even if they don't become a couple I would like them to remain friends, they have great chemistry.

That's how I interpreted it so that's good. I agree with what you said. JP is definitely not ready to be in a relationship until some time after the Finn stuff comes out.
Lets hope they remain friends if they don't become a couple!
As I've seen more interactions between them, I've come to really like the idea of them together. Just wish the Fraser stuff was not a part of it.

^ To say he will be angry is an understatement. He will probably want to beat up Finn and I wouldn't blame him. Although there will be a long queue to punch the Daemon; Mercedes, Nana McQueen, Nancy etc. will all be right behind him.
Honestly, I think he will be JP's rock during the aftermath (along with his family), and I am not just saying this as a McHay fan. I feel the writers are not only building up JP/Ste towards a relationship, but to also make it believable that they will go out of their way to help each other.

As someone who has said in the that he is sick of his family members getting away with crimes (when he discovered Thersea shot Calvin) it is a surprise to see him try to get the fingerprints off the gun and tell Ste he didn't kill Fraser (I am certain Ste isn't the actual killer, but you have to remember that JP does believe Ste killed him).

^ That is true. Ste may be many things but being a murderer is not in his nature. You are right about Ste showing remorse and to be honest if he had done it (not that he has) he would have been so out of it that he would not have realised what he did.

Agreed. The funny thing is that they aren't even a couple [yet]. That credit scene in the end was quite a sweet moment.
Also, going back to a few days, I realised that JP has been the only person to notice something is seriously up with Ste and he has only been back a few days. Not even his own family have noticed!
I would love to see a McHay relationship in the future (not now though, I would rather wait until JP's rape has been revealed and we see how the aftermath is dealt with), but if they stay as just friends that is fine with me too. The two actors just work so well with each other I just look forward to their scenes (despite it being involved with the gangster storyline).
