if the two dualists ever come into the bottom two in the future you know who they will save. As we now know who they think is better than the other.

Rubbish!

The couple's who win the duel go straight into next weeks show, the ones who didn't face the public vote.

Totally, (and literally), pointless.

Added nothing to the show at all. The format is looking increasingly tired.

It puts the 2nd best skater in jeopardy while making the skater who is last but one exempt from the public vote.

I felt it was unfair to put a guy and a girl in a duel together. Robin said he changed his mind who to save out of Bonnie and Gareth because of the lift at the end.

Robin seemed to rate the skills of Gareth doing the lifting over Bonnie being lifted. He may have a point, personally I would guess that in the main lifting is harder than being lifted, but then you can't expect most women to be able to lift a guy, so Bonnie could never win by that comparison.

I guess it's applicable over the whole show as well...

You raise the issue of why the female celebs aren't expected to aim towards the same standard as the female pros (who, let's be honest don't spend as much time 'in hold' as the female celebs and do much more skating on the ice) whereas the male celebs are expected to aim towards the same standard as the male pros in terms of being able to lift their partner in increasingly difficult lifts, and skate on the ice, and yet their pro partners still do a lot of skating on the ice in between lifts.

It has always been like that, though - the female celebs have never been expected to spend as much time on the ice emulating the female pros as the male celebs who have been expected to emulate the male pros and in a more 50/50 spread of on ice and in-hold, and that's where the inability to compare like with like springs from. If they'd been fair across the board from the start - celebs aim towards EXACTLY the same proportion of time on the ice and holding/being in hold with their partner then it would be easier to compare a male/female duel.
