Or is he at the Winter Olympics?

According to other forum members on here, Robin does have 2 weeks off for the olympics, whether that is from next or the week after I am not sure.

They didn't mention anything tonight but it will be the next 2 weeks as the Figure Skating starts this Thursday 6th with the Team event.

Maybe ITV don't want to plug BBC's coverage of the Olympics, especially as in 2 weeks time the Ice Dance will overlap for a bit with DOI.

Who is going to save Kyran in the skate off?

Depending on who replaces him it could through up some interesting results.

Maybe they'll bring Nicky back for a fortnight.

Nicky has already stated he is replacing Robin for the two weeks he is off.

Well! All we really need now is Holly Willoughbooby to make an appearance. Christine should be ill for a week.

Shame, no appearance from Angela Rippon.

That was the most random choice for a guest judge ever. Made even funnier by the fact that she took part in the next series and was voted out in the first week!

Robin has just tweeted that he is Sochi bound so he is off to the Olympics today. He says he will miss his Dancing on a Ice friends. So it must be the next two weeks he is replaced - presumably by Nicky Slater who has said he is doing it although no official confirmation of that I have seen.

Edit: Robin has just tweeted that Nicky Slater IS replacing him! And asks Karen to keep his seat warm so guess that's confirmation she will be head judge.

Yes, and Michael Ball - absolutely hilarious, but Angela Rippon was a much weirder choice (I am Stephen_Didlick, accidentally logged in through fb and not my DS account).

All this messing around with the panel over the years makes me wish they had just had Robin, Karen, Nicky and Jason this whole time. The five judges thing didn't work because some judges would only comment twice an episode. I get they were trying to be different to Strictly though, and it was also a nod to the professional world with the marks.

I'm looking forward to seeing Nicky back, he was always a little crazy but I almost always agreed with him

And Karen will have someone else to roll her eyes at (I like Karen -and Nicky - mind you)

Will the judges have to sit Karen, Ashley, Nicky, Jason?

Why? I thought it would be Karen, Nicky, Ashley, Jason.

I don't think they need to actually move over, as it's understood Karen's head judge regardless. Though Karen might want to move to Robin's seat and move Ashley up next to her

Am I missing something? Does Karen not like Nicky either?

They apparently had a bit of a falling out many years back over Nicky's indecision about the future of their partnership...seemingly it's been smoothed over but IIRC it was always a bit awkward between them before when they were both regulars on the panel

Oh, I see! I wasn't aware that Slater and Barber were a combo!

You've missed some pretty darn good routines then...may I suggest Youtube for a catch up

"A bit...." might be something of an understatement

Karen only really took up falling out with Jason after Nicky left the panel. It was a lot less obvious, but the tension and sniping was definitely there!

Me too. As much as I like & respect Robin he's a little bland - not sure you could accuse Nicky of that.

I've been watching some old clips on YouTube. Karen and Jason are sitting next to each other in series 1 but who on earth is that "Krez" woman?

I remember some of his early TV commentating and him advising viewers to try to watch skaters' feet as much as possible to gauge their routines, still find I do that now even with DOI.
