I wonder if anyone can help? Upgraded to BT Infinity 1 today and engineer called to install. Our old BT broadband was hardwired into computer but we now have the Hub downstairs and the computer upstairs. We discovered that the computer doesn't have a wireless card and so got a BT 600 dongle. Unfortunately when trying to load the software it just shows a smallish screen with half the instructions missing including buttons such as Next to proceed with the installation. Very frustrating and now don't know what to do. Laptop and tablet and phones all connected to Hub so we can use those. Any ideas? Is the BT 600 incompatible with computers without a wireless card? HELP!!!!!!!
If I order BT Infinity today will I get a self install?

just ordered BT Inifinity (unlimited infinity 1) and have been told its self install.
Not too happy as I was hoping an engineer could do something with my sockets as the master socket is in such a stupid place - in the narrow hall with no room for a table or anything. Theres a socket behind the tv which would be perfect for the master socket as could then connect BT vision & xbox directly to hub.
Anyways asked about getting in engineer to do it and was told there'd be a £125 charge.....

It might have been cheaper to go for Infinity 2 instead!! That's still engineer install!
Funnily enough I ordered Infinity 1 about one month ago using the fully online system (no talking to anyone!) and it booked me an engineer then. While I did not think I needed one he was extremely helpful and sorted out a move of Master Socket to a bedroom extesion for me!
Ha i Just called BT again to see if I could swindle an engineer. When they asked why and I said I wanted my hub to be able to be plugged into the living room socket and not the one in the hall she quoted me £205!
She then went to to helpfully advise me to "hire a local electrician to move the master socket as it would be much cheaper". SO there you have it. BT are saying work away and move the master sockets ourselves

Why is it suddenly £205 I wonder? FTTC engineer installations were only ever £99 maximum for OpenReach - possibly less for integrated modems like the HH5 (as OpenReach do not have to supply a modem)
