I loved it. It had some really funny lines and some subtle but amusing ones too. Silly little things like the old school humour from the couple going to their daughters wedding ('put the big light on' 'I've slept with a corpse for 25 years') and Jack Whitehalls character wearing the hitchhikers 'I love Aussie Boys' tee shirt at the end. It was great.

Could have done without the scene with the shoe box.but hey that's part of their style and it illustrated how gross and uncouth the character was which was presumably why he wasn't even considered to be the other Doctor going for the job.

That cast, Shearsmith and Pemberton aside, will be totally different for the next 5 episodes. Just a heads up.

I enjoyed last night's. Bit annoyed that Jack Whitehall keeps getting away with playing Jack Whitehall in everything he's in, but I can overlook that.

I really enjoyed the 'Sardines' and robbery episodes of this last year. I liked the latest one - I suspected the doctor had murdered the other guy, but liked the twist that he had got the wrong man!

This kind of stuff is completely my thing.

Just great! These 'bottle' episodes are a perfect showcase for what Reece and Steve do best. You can't tear your eyes away from the screen, even with the more mundane stuff like with Jack Whitehall and the girl, you're thinking absolutely anything could happen at any moment. The cast were all great, Jack included!

Reece and Steve speaking in German took me back to the League of Gentlemen with Herr Lipp!

Saying that, it was pretty stupid for the English doc to kill someone just because of the bed and not check ID or have a photo of them already.

Shearsmith killed the wrong guy who he thought was his rival candidate for the job he was going for as he was sleeping in the wrong bed. Pemberton was the other doctor he should have killed.

weird, i though the sardines one was awful. the robbery and the tramp one were the best ones i thought.

Why does Jack Whitehall always play a posh idiot?

As a fairly new fan of these guys (only got into The League of Gentlemen in November last year, watched the whole 3 series and the Christmas special in just 3 days) and having seen Reece in The Widower and then subsequently Chasing Shadows before that, I watched the first series of Inside No 9 on DVD. My favourite episode has to be Tom and Gerri. I absolutely loved the series so couldn't wait for this new one to start. I've watched La Couchette twice now, and each time it completely pulls you in from beginning to end, 30 minutes of absolute pure genius. I seriously can't wait for the other episodes! I love how sinister the characters are, for example Migg in Tom and Gerri and Maxwell in La Couchette.

Because he can't act so can only play himself?

Great first episode of the new series. Looking forward to next week and Sheridan Smith

Wow that was good.Don't know about it being comedy but powerful stuff.

Didn't enjoy this week's episode. It was well acted and intriguing, but too depressing for my taste. I prefer the episodes that have some humour to balance the dark stories.

Very good, the transitions were slickly done.
