That made me cry. Also, that song was played at my nans funeral, made it even sadder.

Cracking episode, really liked that.

David Warner next week, always plays the bad guy and I think he was in The League of Gentlemen Film.

Yep, it made me cry too.

At first and for a fair way through I was confused, but then I realised that her dying mind was mixing up her memories. So now the show has made me smile and laugh one week and cry the next, quite an achievement...I love this.

Tonight's episode was the best half hour of TV I've seen in a long time. These guys really deserve every award going. Completely pulls you in half way through and doesn't let go until the end credits roll.

Absolutely amazing television.

I loved this week, one of the best things on tv in long time. Last series my favourite was Tom and Geri but this was just as good.

I guessed that she was dead but that was more to do with the decor of flat being really old fashioned. It was sad story but filmed and told really well.

Love anything these guys do

The showing of the Andrea Bocelli CD gave it away (link it to the song and you are there).

It was fine as a piece of drama, but one of the more obvious twists of the series (as a Lost fan, this story structure is very familiar; used in several seasons there). Especially the skipping in time between scenes is always a good pointer for this.

That was simply an amazing bit of television. It makes me wonder how people conceive these bizarre twists. Sheridan Smith was magnificent.

I had to watch it over again. So beautifully written and acted.

Brilliant does not cover how good this was.

I never saw the ending coming as I could not work out what was going on. The ending very sad.

Shearsmith and Pemberton = Excellence.

very simple.........they've seen the same plot device done on TV before, several times.

What was the thing about her childhood boyfriend? Any significance?

It was her memories getting confused, the Reece Shearsmith character had the glasses/look of him and prompted the memory

Loved last night's episode. I watched the whole thing thinking "Where are they going with this??" and got a surprise at the poignant twist at the end.

Reese Shearsmith and Steve Pemberton really are fantastic writers.

And Sheridan Smith really can do no wrong. Brilliant actress.

Sheridan was great, but the whole thing was so bleak.

Just started a new thread cos I couldn't find this one and the bloody Search function doesn't bloody work

Anyway, this was awesome last night. Blubbed like a baby at the end. Really didn't see that coming. Even when they gave her the photo album near the end, I thought it was like a memory book cos she had alzheimers or something.

Brilliant from beginning to end.

I've just caught up with this now.

What a fantastic piece of drama. I didn't guess what was happening and cried at the end.

Also, great to see Michelle Dotrice again.

For someone who's seen the first series and knows what to expect from Shearsmith and Pemberton, yes, slow start.

In the last series they've done some fantastic little episodes. Sardines, the robbery, Tom and Geri and the Macbeth one.
But this 12 day of Christine has to be one of my favourite. So poignant and so sad...

A stunning episode last night. It caught me completely off guard right at the end and I was in tears at the credits.

Not a huge fan of these guys normally (I find them okay), but that was a great half hour movie.

Personally I think a few spoilers need to be covered up with regards to others posts...

A beautiful episode.

I actually thought that she had Alzheimer's and that she was on day release from the hospital for Christmas especially when the dad seemed okay.

I must have missed the loads of other times this plot device has been used on tv as I didn't see it coming. I doubt very little is actually original. How it's dressed up and presented can be though and I thought this was excellent, just as virtually all their stuff is.

What I couldn't believe was the obvious continuity error. When Sheridan was in the bedroom and the first egg hit the wall it went all over the place leaving a huge mess on the wall. Next second she's seen turning round to face the door and the wall behind her is totally clean. No egg anywhere. It always baffles me how professional tv companies can miss things like that.
