Well that was shit.
28 minutes of banality to setup the payoff in the last minute. The recent series on Dave called Crackanory did dark, quirky, strange stories better. I hope the rest of the series is an improvement because a second series has already been commissioned before the first ep was even broadcast. I personally really liked it. The dialouge was witty, cutting and the situation awkward and funny. The ending was good too. |

Who was the actress that played Rachel/Rebecca, that wasn't Parkinson?

Wasn't the stately house at the start of the story the same building that was shown in the titles of the 'Hammer House Of Horror' series?

I haven't seen it yet but recorded it and am looking forward to watching it.
I thought I would look at the thread with half shut eyes (to avoid spoilers) just to get a feel for how others felt about it. What is weird is that most of those who posted while watching were quite negative towards it but all of those who posted after it liked it. Maybe there is a lesson to be learnt ie why don't you watch the whole of a program before making sweeping comments. Who knows, by actually concentrating on the prog you may appreciate the less in your face aspects of the it. On the other hand maybe most people who don't like a show after watching choose not to post. I think the former. I am not saying it is impossible to post on a forum and watch the program at the same time but it just seems a strange way to enjoy something which may have more subtleties than say CBB or other reality progs. I have never understood such behaviour. I personally thought it was great & I can't wait for the rest of the series. |

Judging by some clips of next weeks episode, it looks like it's going to feature

I loved the League, but missed most of Psychoville, finding it difficult to get into the episodes I did catch up with.
Only realised this was on yesterday after seeing Reece tweeting about it. Watched it tonight and really enjoyed it. Seemed really well crafted. Definitely one for the more discerning viewer who doesn't tend to go for massively sign-posted plots and obvious humour. I like stuff that makes me cringe with awkwardness on behalf of the characters, plus the darkness that descends as the skeletons from the past start to make their presence known. |

That's what can happen when people don't concentrate on what they're watching & are overly desperate to impart their views on a programme before they've even finished watching it.

I personally thought it was great & I can't wait for the rest of the series. ) when watching sometimes, but usually only during shows which I don't take terribly seriously or am obviously not bothered about watching that much. It's sometimes interesting and funny to see what others are saying about a show at the same time that I'm watching it. The best one for other peoples reactions I remember was a show about One Direction fans. I wouldn't do it during something like this though.. Anyway, I am looking forward to next week. Are they all completely separate stories, or linked in some way? |

I thought this was absolutely fantastic! Not laugh a minute stuff but it's not meant to be, there were some very funny bits though.
I thought that in a way it was more screwed up than Psychoville and League Of Gentlemen (both of which I love) because the characters weren't as outrageous and surreal. It was more realistic if you like, which made it a lot, lot darker. There was also a line that was lifted directly from either League of Gentlemen or Psychoville but for the life of me I can't remember what it was. It's really annoying me now! |

I enjoyed this and hope the rest of the series follows the form.
It had the feel of a stage play to me rather than a TV drama, put me in mind of the Abigail's Party type of play for today. |

As said before, I really enjoyed it, but historically a lot of people do struggle with programmes that are neither straight forward drama or comedy, but a blend of both.

Only caught up with this yesterday, I LOVED it.
It sort of reminded me of a dark comic version of tales of the unexpected. I liked how the characters were gradually introduced, and it was not how I expected it to unfold at all. Great writing and performances, very much looking forward to next weeks show. |
