Looks good, first I've heard of this game. Sick to death of getting ripped of by the money grabbing gits from EA, so unlimited courses is a great selling point. Also no loading times between holes is a great addition if you have played Tiger. Chelsea, do you know if this is going to be a yearly rip off like Tiger Woods was, or a one off game, with maybe a improved version released a few years down the line?

A new design theme has been added to the original trio of Alpine, Autumn and Rural. The Desert theme features an imposing and rugged mountainous backdrop with appropriate planting, wildlife and audio, providing designers with a broader scope with course composition. This latest cosmetic addition provides further evidence of HB's commitment to the progressive evolve of TGC.
Desert Theme Spring?! In other news, HB Studios continue with minor gameplay refinements and last I heard are still aiming for console launch this ‘Spring’, which technically runs till June 20 in the Northern Hemisphere, although personally I’d call that Summer! But hey, it’s apparently coming soon, all good. |

Here’s one for Allan if you're about. I recall you mentioning you hope some wacky courses will appear. So I think you'll enjoy this astonishing, VERY wacky hole in one!

HB Studios stated in their latest Dev Diary that TGC will be submitted to Sony/MS in the next couple of weeks. From that point it takes approx 4 weeks to verify, so early to mid July looks a likely release date. And with The Open at Hoylake July 17-20, it looks like they’ve timed it rather well. Quote:
HB Studios..
"We are moving ever closer to the full release of The Golf Club as this evening’s Early Access build will show. Everything is now in the game, although not all of it is released with this build, and we are hard at work fixing bugs on all three platforms. In a couple of weeks we will be submitting the console builds to first party.." |

As we patiently await TGC’s launch here’s a fine 10 quid deal right now on the store with PGA Golf 13. This incarnate features a new swing mechanic, a wealth of gameplay options and loads of all round Golfing goodness. Doesn't quite match up to 12 but still plays a solid 18. The disk version does suffer from occasional slowdown and loading is tiresome, which is why this is an ideal opportunity to get the far slicker, more convenient HDD version. Absolute bargain.
PGA 13 £9.99 |

Speaking of the PGA series, here’s the new ‘Tiger-less’ iteration due next Spring. But after seeing the borderline comical ‘explosive’ E3 trailer, I’ll be reserving judgement and the cash! Although to be fair apparently the game does maintain some semblance of the normal PGA Tour experience. But I for sure won’t be smacking my drive toward the USS Augusta, 'resplendent' with maurading covering aircraft! I can only assume EA are thinking the fantasy stuff may bring in some additional casual Golfers and revenue?! Quite honestly I don‘t know whether to laugh or cry on this one, but I'll stay with the prior emotion for now. And hey, there's always The Golf Club from HBS, who quickly knocked together a fairly amusing parody!

Long time no update of note on this one, but that changed yesterday with the news that TGC has finally been submitted for certification to Sony and Microsoft. All being well we should see this one hit the respective stores in the next few weeks or so. However, as I mentioned recently on here, we’ve thrown our 4 in the general direction of our FIFA and NBA loving little fella. But I’ll probably bag TGC anyway and have a round or three from the comfort of his room. Anyway, TGC is imminent. Hopefully it plays and moves as good as it looks.

Maybe a side note but how does certification work ? Do they play the game to see if it crashes a ps4 or xbox1 ?

What do you mean game features?
Wonder how bf4 passed on its initial release. It was causing CE screens on release. |

It's not getting a physical release hence why you can't pre-order it anywhere. This is a digital only game.

That'll depend how it makes it through certification as above. I think they are aiming for this year though.

Has anyone downloaded the early access on through steam and if so what is it like? 26.99 doesn't seem too bad.
