If you can find them Old Cotswold Legbar hens eggs are the best ever. Pale blue shells, deep yellow yolks and a flavour I'd forgotten.

Last time I bought fresh farm eggs every one of the yolks broke on me whenever I tried to fry or poach them and some of them had bits of blood inside which I had to firk out with a spoon. I buy those Big and Fresh ones in the yellow box from the supermarket and never had any issues with them.

Tried some duck eggs once and hated the taste. They had what I can only describe as a gamey flavour to them. Not nice.

Asda Has stopped stocking my brand of caviar as well!

Just what is this world coming to when we spoilt, rich people can't flaunt that we are just superior in every way?

I buy them too and much better to have lion stamp on them than noting at all, they could be from china for all we know.

All my eggs are laid from hens facing towards Buckingham Palace.

Sorry but what is a 'good egg'?

I usually buy the Tesco Value eggs as I am a pauper. One day I spotted some Free Range eggs on a very good offer and thought I would treat myself.

When I served them up I couldn't for the life of me taste any difference to my usual ones. I don't really care about how the chicken was raised and it's welfare - if I did, I wouldn't eat the things in the first place.

Same here!

Have to say we do regularly buy local too, but though it feels 'nice' to support our local community, we've never found yummier and more reliable eggs than those^.

The lion has got nowt to do with the issue.

These are notably better than most.

I still cut my toast up into soldiers so i can dip them into my boiled egg.

Sometimes i have Chucky Eggs - Boiled egg chopped up in a mug with salt, pepper and a bit of butter added.

I have my own hens ... but they are old now and have stopped laying.

I now have to buy my own eggs and they are really inferior. I have tried them from the supermarket, trying all the different free range brands and from the local butchers. But none of them compared to my fluffy feathery friends eggs.

I tend to buy mainly buy duck eggs from the local market nowadays, far tastier than hens eggs imo.

My mate is an Egg dealer, he both Buys and Sells Eggs. One lady buys off him Stamped Eggs, sands off the mark and sells them at her gate as Free Range. Her customers swear by them. The Colour of the Yolk is dependent on what the hens are fed on and can be adjusted to suit demand.

I buy either free range from whatever supermarket I happen to be in (Waitrose eggs as mentioned previously are a favourite here as well) or I get them from the local farmer on his stall on a Friday market or from my local butcher who also does duck and goose eggs.

Did you know that eating eggs can make you more snottery and increase the chance of you snoring. I'm talking through personal experience.

Why is that? Nobody in my house is eating eggs again if that is true!

There's someone round our way that occasionally thinks it's hilarious to egg peoples houses and cars. Usually once every few months. It's very random and most bizarre.

Not sure what goes through their minds when they're doing it, but I'm pretty sure they're not interested in the quality of the eggs.

I have a small frying pan that holds the contents of one egg. Yes, anti-snob pseuds, it's a Le Creuset. It's the dog's bollocks for making an egg sarny.

Good quality eggs keep a separate yolk, mundane eggs (which I'm cool with) tend to blend the yolk in.

OP, I care, I am not a nobody. QED.

I'd hate to be a party pooper, but shouldn't this thread be in Food and Drink?
