Homechoice to force-feed advertising
Video Networks has unveiled a raft of enhancements to its HomeChoice service, designed to boost alternative advertising opportunities for its on-demand platforms.
The changes will include the introduction of advertising slots to appear automatically before any on-demand programme In addition viewers will be hit with short, channel-specific messages when they tune in to HomeChoice services. http://www.mediaweek.co.uk/articles/...choice-adshift |

I think this was probably always on the cards. TBH I think anything that means they don't have to show that darned "did you know your favourites have moved?" trailer so much is probably welcome

I think as long as the items are short and snappy (15-20 secs max) and match the content you are looking at it would be fine...
What I would object to is non HC adverts croping up on things like the music or Docs on demand as I pay extra for those services. |

I guess it's all about balance. The less I have to pay the more I'll be prepared to put up with.
I would be concerned if we see no immediate improvements to offset these advertisments - it's no point saying the extra money will 'allow us' - it has to be immediate and obvious. It'll be interesting so see how (or if) they communicate this. |
