Was there a reason why they stopped bringing the tour to Belfast? I remember it used to come a lot but they completely stopped after 2010.

I'm afraid I was told that like the Strictly Tour which also no longer visits Belfast the costs involved in transporting the show to Belfast made it unviable.

Afraid not! The Strictly tour is just finishing and Belfast was not included. I believe Wales is not included in both tours either which is a real shame as tours should include all of the UK as people everywhere watch support and vote!

That is ridiculous my friend actually had to travel to see this years tour which isn't right because it should visit all of the UK not just the mainland.
And I remember on both Strictly and DOI the Odyssey was always full so it was not as if they were performing in a half empty arena.

I would imagine that the tour organizers have zero interest in bringing the show to people as a reward for loyalty. The tours are a money-making venture, so cash is king ~ if it costs too much to get there, the tour won't go there. I'm sure some of the contestants take part for reasons other than a pay cheque (for example, I doubt Deborah Meaden did the Strictly tour because she needed the money), but for the bods responsible for devising the mechanics of these types of tours, it all comes down to a balance sheet. Transporting it across water to Belfast must cost a fortune.

Well they did it before both strictly and doi were in Belfast for years and as someone else said to mostly full audience for more shows than they put on anywhere else. Transporting what about maximum 6 lorries on ferry is hardly a fortune taking to account how much they would have made in return through tickets & merchandise. It's an excuse don't know what their excuse is for not going to Wales but I'm sure they will find 1.

Having taken the show to Belfast 'for years' they presumably decided that based on past profit margins it wasn't working out worth their while, i. e. less profitable and more hassle than the organisers were prepared to stomach. What other reason could there be? As Amytigger has already said above, they were told that the costs involved made it an unviable venture and so they stopped doing it.
What reason do you think they have, so unpalatable that they have invented a cost 'excuse' to disguise their real reasons? I can't imagine what other factors there might be that would cause them to abandon something that was sufficiently profitable.

The popularity of the tour overall has decreased over the years look at the number of dates compared to other tours and the lack of any tour last year for DOI. They are hardly going to say the tours aren't as popular as in previous years are they? They are still selling tickets on the day of the show were in previous year they were sold out well in advanced.
There is very little space at the odyssey at the minute for the SCD tour esp at weekends which are the most profitable dates. I wasn't saying money wasnt a factor but there are other reasons too for making the tour shorter and less travel and more compact other than just money.
So if the tours are less popular, then they are making less money, and hence are reducing their expenses by reducing the number of dates and the distance they need to travel, therefore no NI or Wales shows. It all boils down to profit, surely?

Another thing to do with profit surely is supply and demand as this question keeps getting asked time & time again with even Craig deciding to answer the question about Ireland on twitter it shows that a lot of people are asking about it. Belfast isnt the only place they dont go to. There is a different between somewhere being too expensive to go to and wanting to cut costs.
Availability is also a massive factor in tours both in venues and in celebrities schedule.

Could be true because I just checked the Odyssey and the X Factor is coming so the obvious question will be. ''If the x factor can come then surely Strictly could aswell'' But I guess the availability of the arena is a big factor too.
