I first tried Jim Beam Honey a couple of christmasses ago when my sis asked what I would like and I said Jack Daniel's Honey.

Although the JD Honey I think is more of a traditional liqueur I do prefer JB Honey. I'm not a drinker who drinks bourbon straight but I easily could with JB Honey.

Recently I also tried Red Stag for the first time which is flavoured with Black Cherry.
I usually only have the one them move onto standard bourbon but it is a nice starter.

btw, at this point in time both JB Honey and Red Stag are £15 in ASDA.

I was looking on the site and they have a few more products.

I've only tried the standard, Honey and Red Stag. I've not seen the others over here.

What do you think of JB? or do you prefer other brands?

I prefer Jim Beam to Jack Daniels.

I don't drink bourbon straight but with full fat coke and ice.

I have a bottle of red stag but am looking for something to mix with it cos I like the cherry flavour but find it too sweet.

I much prefer JD, but I'll drink both. I like my American whisky (JD isn't bourbon) at room temperature, straight no ice.

Like Walter I prefer my bourbon straight up with no ice. I like Woodfords Reserve but my favourite is Blantons Single barrel. If I could have one bourbon for the rest of my life it would be Pappy Van Winkles Family Reserve 20 year old. I have only ever managed to find one bottle of it though.

Never heard of it, but found this:-

Bit pricey even if they had any.

I paid £120 two years ago but I rationed it very carefully and managed to make it last 3 months. It was the smoothest whiskey/Bourbon I ever expect to taste.

Jim Beam is much better than JD. Devil's Cut is a great tipple.

Never tried the honey or cherry stuff as it sounds like the equivalent of alcopops for the drinkers who don't like the taste of spirits.

We brought some Devils Cut home from Germany last year. There's a reason it has 'devils' in the name

I like Red Stag and we used to get a bottle nearly every weekend but I'm going off it now, it's so sweet.

I love the honey versions, much mellower and easy drinking than 'proper' JD or Jim Beam.

Agreed. Prefer JB to JD, but there's much better American stuff out there than either.

Same here and has to be coca-cola (well it does at home).
I have the same with Red Stag and Honey but with less coke.
And as I say, I could drink the Honey straight.

The cherry is more of a liqeure but the honey is just like a smoother, more mellow and slightly sweeter bourbon. It's not like JD Honey which is far removed from standard JD imo.

Ta Degsy, will have to give the JB Honey a go. Hope the Asda offer is still on tomorrow.

Was in ASDA earlier and they still have the Jim Beam range on offer for £15.

They also had a big display for them but I didn't catch what it was about.

I'm a JD man, always have been and always will be. Doesn't mean that I don't like JB though. That said, if it's a special occasion and I'm pushing the boat out then it's Rock Hill Farms Single Barrel every time.

I know it's rum, but you might like Captions Morgan's spiced, as an alternative.

I like JD honey
So much so I got myself into a bit of a pickle with it- am nearly 10 months dry now.

The JB honey was a rougher taste and I think less nice

People chose JD a lot cause of it's "coolness"

As a bourbon JB is pretty much the same taste

I think they are completely different drinks. JB Honey is like bourbon with honey - a smoother, sweeter bourbon whereas JD Honey is more like a liqueur and has a nutty smell/taste and not at all like regular JD at all.

I agree with that. I think they taste very similar and also think they're not much different to some other cheaper brands such as some supermarket own. I usually buy supermarket own as they're around £13 instead of £19 for JD.

When out in town the Wetherspoons offer Buffalo Trace cheaper than JD/JB.

Anyone tried Wild Turkey Honey? Completely different to JB and JD, didn't like it much.

ALDI are now stocking Jim Beam (white) for £14.99.
I couldn't see Clarke's on the shelf so I wonder if it's been replaced.

Tesco are stocking Devil's Cut but it's not on offer.

Tesco are now selling Jim Beam for £15. I don't know if it's to price match ASDA and ALDI or if it's some kind of JB promotion to get people drinking it more.

Also have a new ad with Mila Kunis.

Devil's Cut is £20 ish at the moment in Tesco. Think its got £4.99 off. Tried some a year ago when it was down to £18. Very nice it is.
Tried the normal Jim Beam recently no better than Clarke's from Aldi for me. Both ok though.

I recently tried Jim Beam honey as I'd spotted the Asda offer. Nice, but I prefer the more herby/spicy flavour of Drambuie.

I think they must be doing a massive promotion in the UK to get ahead of JB or other versions.

ALDI - £14.99
ASDA - £15
Tesco - £15

Morrisons....... they have reduced the price. It's now £16.99. They haven't quite got the hang of those price matches have they.

ASDA have finished their Jim Beam promotion

They do have Jack Daniels on offer for £15 though
