Lol - love how they go through the whole "don't call it Mass Effect 4" thing, and then instantly call it Mass Effect 4!

![]() ![]() Let's hope it's a case of getting the worst reveals out of the way first. Otherwise, what next, an announcement that the game ending will feature another rainbow choice? |

Q2 2016 is my guess.
That's fine. I'd rather they take their time. Look what happened when they were rushed with ME3. They ended up chopping out From Ashes and had to come up with the Extended Cut to pave over the cracks during the end of the game. |

That's fine. I'd rather they take their time. Look what happened when they were rushed with ME3. They ended up chopping out From Ashes and had to come up with the Extended Cut to pave over the cracks during the end of the game. The reason - it's going to be coming to PS3 and XBox360. I didn't think those machines were still getting new games but there you are. It must be one of the final games those systems are getting, and releasing on those two years from now would be a terrible idea. PS4, XBoxOne and PC versions would likely follow later. They'll require the most time and effort since they'll be able to include many more features and enhanced graphic effects, and possibly default with all the PS3/XBox360 DLC. I expect a GTAV situation: we already have GTAV for the last gen machines, but it's getting a major facelift for the current gen versions which aren't out for a while. I don't think it's really worthwhile getting the last-gen versions as current-gen versions will be coming eventually, and with the save importing feature Mass Effect usually has, folks who already completed the first game would likely still feel like they need to repurchase so they can have a save file ready for ME5. At least that repurchase should be somewhat warranted anyway because of the upgrades it's likely to have. Incidentally, who else here is planning to name their character "Shepard" to spite Bioware? If we can name our character, that is. I wonder whether Bioware will go that extra step in detecting whether we entered "Shepard" and disallowing it? |

Has it actually been confirmed it's coming to last-gen consoles?

If we can name our character, that is. I wonder whether Bioware will go that extra step in detecting whether we entered "Shepard" and disallowing it? I'd be very surprised if me4 was released on last gen especially since it looking likely to be a 2016 release. I can't see the ps3 and 360 getting many new releases in 2 years time. The reason gtav was released on last gen first is that the ps4 and xbone were not released when gtav was released. I'm not naming my character Shepard bit sad really to think Bioware will give a toss what you call your character. Don't get why you feel it will spite them or why you would want to. Best way to spite them is by not buying the game. |

Such an absence suggest that Mass Effect 4 won’t be available until 2015 and running on the Frostbite 3 engine, we should see Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS4, PS3 and PC platforms supported.
GameSpot and GameFAQs have boards for the PS3 and XBox360 versions already:http://www.gamefaqs.com/search/index...ed+mass+effect Metacritic also has an entry: http://www.metacritic.com/game/xbox-...ss-effect-game Note that these sites use the name "Untitled Mass Effect Game" since BioWare have made it clear the new game won't have a 4 in the title. |

good point about it using the frostbite 3 engine which does run battlefield 4 on the 360 and ps3. so it might be a fair assumption to make.

As for the engine... Just because the game is using an engine that can run on last-gen consoles does not mean that the game itself will do so. |
