Jason has been rude in the past but he WAS NOT rude to Sam tonight. He was giving his personal opinion on the dance so I really don't know were Karen was coming from.
Good on him for calling everyone else rude for agreeing with him.

Karen tried to start a fight but failed miserably.

His comment on how the only resemblance that Sam had to Freddie Mercury was the moustache was, I think, rather rude.

So was him repeating "he's being rude now" and "she's being rude now". That was very petty of him.

He makes personal attacks on people rather than just telling them where they've gone wrong. The other judges don't do that. Yet Jason feels singled out by Karen.

I thought Jason's comments re Sam and Freddie Mercury were spot on. I think Sam is boring when he skates, lacking in that certain something. I can't give it a name but you can tell when it's missing! Don't try to look like Freddie unless you give it some oomph!!

I was soo disappointed it was Gareth in the skate off, anyone else and I think we might have been saying goodbye to Sam.

I did because I thought Gareth did a better job.

Karen is extremely rude, people always show their true colours eventually.
She has delusions of grandeur since appearing on TV.

I think Jason was right, the fact that Sam was wearing a Freddie moustache suggested he should at least be playing a bit of a Freddie role and he just wasnīt. Maybe it was because the moustache masked his mouth and so it was really hard to see his facial expressions but to me it just looked like his face was dead and impassive throughout. Technically he looked good but there was little there in the way of an exciting performance facially or via body movements.

I actually find Samīs partnership with Vicky on the ice very dull. For me he had a lot of chemistry with Brianne and their performances were always very exciting and full of tension. With Vicky itīs like they donīt really know or like each other, I canīt sense any chemistry, which is odd given that they are engaged!

True indeed. She treis and fails, to give the impression that her comments are sooo important, and soooooo meaningful.

In reality she comes across on TV as a somewhat unpleasant person. It may be her demeanour or it may be her distinctly aggressive facial expressions, but as a TV personalty she just doesn't cut it.

As a coach, yes, of course. As an occasional commentator yes, but as a Judge, no way.

Sorry to disagree, but how can a comment that reflects the truth actually be rude?

Karen picked up on the comment because

(a) she didn't hear it properly
(b) she misunderstood it
(c) she was determined to p[ick a fight with Jason, regardless of the context
or
(d) she was simply looking for any excuse to say 'Look at me - I'm the Head Judge and I'm in charge'.

Whichever it was she succeeded in making herself look rather petty and pathetic - again.

I agree. It was Karen who I found rude not Jason.

I enjoyed Gareth's performance more and feel he is improving week by week. I would have saved him too but just knew that once he was in the skate off with Sam he wouldn't be saved . Sam could have tripped over but they still wouldn't have saved Gareth over him. One of the others might have had more chance of being saved against Sam, except maybe Suzanne. I think she is out of favour with them this year for some reason..

I found it odd that they were given that piece of music, that choreography, that character, that moustache, and then for CD to say "It wasn't about Freddie, it was about the music".

You can't really blame Sam for any of that.

Because he's only supposed to comment on the performance that the celebs do, not on what they look like.

I think, by commenting on the moustache,Jason was simply saying that if Sam was going to dress to pretend to be Freddie M then he needed to at least try and perform like him, otherwise the moustache was pretty pointless.

Commenting on performance - or in this case, lack of - was precisely what Jason was doing. Sam had a very powerful piece of music to skate to, but lacked a strong performance.

Mixed messages I feel from T&D, in response to the judging remarks Chris said the piece was about the music not Freddie, but it's a Queen song, and Sam was dressed as Freddie for it.
