I make an effort to look at the calories on everything...then eat it anyway regardless

I think it's pretty daft not to care, given the evidence of unhealthy eating contributing to ill health.

I'm meant to be on a restricted calorie intake as part of my training program but I have been disgraceful this past week and eaten just about everything in sight and not done any exercise. So back to being a good girl tomorrow.

As long as there's salt & vinegar on I'm ok with them.

No I'm a few stones underweight anyway and don't eat much so when I do bother it doesn't really matter what I eat.

Nope, I don't give a toss.

I eat what I want when I want.

I need to lose a couple of stone so yes, I do. I have recently started recording them in MyFitnessPal which is really good and motivates me as well.

I'm not about to become one of these people who goes out for dinner and checks the calories in a side salad, but certainly being aware of them is very important for what I am trying to achieve. I don't want to deprive myself of things I like and so eating a suitable amount of them is the best way

Yeah, I agree. I'm don't check every meal or snack as I'm one of these people who doesn't really put on weight... but I do try to avoid eating too many high calories meals and try to have a balanced diet - fruit/veg. A kebab or a fry is good every so often... but every day... thats inviting clogged arteries.

...such as adult onset, type 2 diabetes, and poor diet can be a factor in that disease: http://www.nhs.uk/Conditions/Diabete...roduction.aspx

I don't tend to focus on calories, more saturated fat.

It's amazing what you learn about the amount of calories you are consuming when you become more aware of them.

I recently swapped my daily roll and cup of tea for breakfast with a small portion of granola and yoghurt, I was astounded when I saw that the 'healthier' option was almost 800 calories, half my daily recommended intake.

Yes I do, as well as caring about the fat, salt & sugar that I eat... I just generally take an interest in what I'm putting into my body.

Yes definitely! I have realised just how lacking in knowledge I actually was on the content in different foods. It's amazing how much 'healthier sounding' options are actually not so good at all.

I'm currently munching a Chinese as I type this. Yes, at 11pm. But it's all being recorded!

I can't even say a word, I think I've become a share holder in just-eat.co.uk this week.

A little but I'm not obsessive about it. I try to keep it healthy and go for lower calorie lower sugar/fat/salt options. But if I really want to eat something I will regardless.

Hi Irish,

It stems from the 6 year old thread, Ricky said on it that he never counted calories then this appeared, it's of no harm but may well be interesting

Hi Mrs Teapot Kind of annoying when new threads are made to try and prove some point. Why can't they continue discussing in the original one.
