well I have a samsung smart tv in the living room which detects my usb stick as I can watch films ect.... via the thumb drive.
When plugging it in the smart tv it pops up and all I have to press is okay which directs me to my thumb drive.

The problem is, I have a samsung tele in my bedroom which also comes with usb slots, but some strange reason this tv does not detect the same usb stick even though it works in the samsung tele in my living room. Is there a way to get it to work in my bedroom tele at all?

The tv that the usb stick is not working on is model number:
22" C450 LCD TV - LE22C450E1W

The thumb drive obviously works as it works in the smart tv and its formatted to fat32 on my macbook pro.

cheers peeps.

Does your bedroom TV claim to be able to read USB drives? - USB slots on many older sets were only for performing software updates and NOT for normal use.

If this is the correct manual for your TV

http://downloadcenter.samsung.com/co...00L05_0426.pdf

then Nigel is correct in his analysis. The picture of the rear panel shows the USB slot is labelled "Service" and the text mentions it is used for Software Upgrades.

The only mention of USB elsewhere in the manual describes using it to upgrade the firmware. Nowhere is there any mention of being able to use it to view video files.
