Sim free phone credit check
I bought a sim free Moto x from mobile phones direct yesterday.my order says awaiting network credit check
Why is this happening when I'm not taking out a contract? |

Yeah sounds strange. Maybe an error on their system. Have you spoken to them?
SIM Free is buying outright so it shouldn't be credit checked. |

Phone might be sim free but are you buying it outright or paying by installments?

Since the bulk of their sales will be on contract, with a little bit of lazy coding, it could just be the default status message their system displays after receiving an order.
If you want a definite answer, ask them. |

If its a 12 months contract they will normally credit check you, and if you want roaming they will also credit check you.

I spoke to them yesterday and yes,they do check your credit file.As someone said,its probably because most of their sales are contract.I asked the guy but they honestly seem clueless!.I had to answer 3 questions about my credit file before they despatched the phone!.
Got the phone yesterday anyway at a good price £289.99 (free delivery).Not bad considering it has just been released in the UK & has an Rep of £380. Neil |
