Rumours are gaining momentum regards David Beckham appearing on this year's Strictly.

Info gleaned on his Miami based football website.

Wouldn't that be something.

Found this fun parody of him in Only Fools and Horses along with Harry Redknapp and Steve McClaren.

tiz quite funny:

i've not heard this rumour anywhere but i'd love to see him on strictly! i feel like it's very very unlikely, sadly. do you think he'd end up winning really easily because he's david beckham and so would be waaay more well known and popular than any other celeb on there?

No, it wouldn't be 'something'. I'm sick and tired of seeing and reading about Brand Beckham. I would switch over when he dances, can't stand him .

Sorry OP but surely this can't be a serious suggestion? It's just pie in the sky. I'm sure they'd want Beckham because he'd be a huge signing but I very much doubt they'd manage to get him - he and his wife are just too occupied in running/publicising the brand Beckham empire and hasn't he just invested in a 'soccer' team in America?

But yes if by some miracle they did manage to get him - I think he would quite easily win - the producers would make sure of that, he has his detractors but he's obviously very popular, even if he only had a miniscule of dance ability I think he'd win

Nor can I - if either David Beckham or his Mrs EVER appear as contestants on Strictly I'll stop watching.

Personally if he were to do such a show I think he'd be more likely to do Dancing With The Stars.

Beckham's ego would be too big to do reality TV unless for Children In Need etc

It would become Strictly Beckham if this was to happen. Can't stand the bloke, he's nowhere near man enough to pull off a great passionate dance performance anyway. Can you imagine the horror of him sashaying his hips in the rumba lol. Nasty thought.

I agree with you on this one Julie.

I never read any celebrity stuff or see any of his advertising so I'd quite like to see Beckham on strictly and see him in action. I can't see it happening though.

Me too Terry. Both the Beckhams are overrated and Strictly would be spoiled if either of them were to be contestants.

Can't see Beckham devoting three months of his time to a TV programme.... fortunately.

^^This.

I personally would love to see him to do SCD but there is no way he could devote the time. Maybe a Christmas Special though? I do have an awful feeling we might end up with Geri Halliwell.

There's no way he's going waste his time on this wank show.

Hopefully the producers will never get so desperate that they ask that tattooed chav to take part and lower the standard of what is such a great show.

I'm not a huge fan of the Beckhams and I don't particularly care to see David on Strictly but whatever you or anyone else thinks of him he is globally famous and one of the most successful footballers this country has produced. He also does a lot for charity.

The producers could do a lot worse than have someone like him on. Anyway imo the standards have already been lowered by the inclusion of WAGS in various line ups!

There are some of us who are not impressed by someone who gets overpaid for kicking a ball around. Of course he does a lot for charity, and he makes sure that we all know about it, he wants a Knighthood.

I don't particularly like golf, rugby or cricket but I know you need talent and dedication to reach the top of your field in those sports and even though I'm not a fan of those sports I've liked most of the celebs they've had from those sports on strictly and I know they've worked hard to get to the top of their sport.

Who cares what the reasons are for his charity work - the fact is he's doing a lot and people are benefitting.

As for him doing Strictly - I really don't understand why some people are fretting about it, as pointed out time and again it's highly unlikely to ever happen - so you can rest assured that he won't darken the door of your favouritie show.
