Blackberry syrup
Piazza
11-02-2014
I have used some tins of blackberries in syrup for a recipe and now have almost a litre of the syrup left over. Are there any uses for it, or recipes that I can use this in, or is it best just to throw it away?

It's very watery and I'm not sure how strong or concentrated it is, so I don't think I would use it in drinks (I have a bottle of creme de mure for that!).

Is it strong enough tasting to make ice lollies or jelly with? I shouldn't imagine it is but those are my only guesses as to what to do with it.

Would reducing it strengthen the flavour?

Sorry. Pass.

Those are good suggestions, thanks! I had wondered about reducing it, might give it a try and see what happens.

I suppose you could make blancmange with it.
