Hi Guys

I wondered if I can get some suggestions on how I can watch Love Film (using my Instant subscription) on TV please?

My TV is not a SMART one. I have tried to connect my PC direct to the back of my TV with the correct leads (according to Love Film) but the audio socket on the TV is duff and sound is intermittent as a result.

I am looking into getting a Sony Blu Ray player at approx. £70 which is the limit of how much I would like to spend. It doesn't seem like all Sony Blu Ray players can show Love Film, is that correct? Can anyone tell me if the actual player has to have the ability to watch Love Film, ie with a built in app of sorts (I'm guessing) or does one sign up to Sony Entertainment to access Love Film?

Finally do I need to pay to sign up to Sony?

Hi, I can't tell you about Sony products, but I watch Lovefilm on my ES-6900 Samsung Smart TV, may F-5470 Samsung Smart TV, my Xbox One and PS4, depending on what I have on at the time.

So, I can't say if that Sony Blu-Ray player has the app. But I really think the Samsung F-BD6500 Blu-Ray player does. Not 100% sure, but that is the minimum model to have all of the UK catch-up services, so it also has the BBC iPlayer, 4oD, ITV Player and Demand 5. I don't think any Sony player has all of them.

Amazon are doing it for £9 more than your budget.

Anyway, this is my suggestion. If you buy it, and it doesn't have it, just send it back. That is the good thing with Amazon (but always take it really carefully out of the box just in case).

Thanks for the replies guys, that's helpful thanks.

It's really difficult to find out which services are available from each product.

If I can get a SMART Blu Ray player which has Love Film and EuroSport then we can get rid of Sky, yey!
