Would have preferred Deirdre to have won but happy with Roy.

What the makers of the show should do is axe the 20 characters who came last in the polls. Then engage some good casting people to gradually bring in interesting characters, preferably ones who can act.

Sorry it's taken me so long to get back with any info on this year's incarnation of this as I know all the other 'favourite character' threads are currently up and running. I actually really haven't been enjoying Corrie anymore and have given up watching it a few months back so don't feel that I'm the right person to run this for this year at least - I would still like the competition to hopefully go ahead however as I'd be interested to see who wins and I'd still vote as I still have an opinion on all the characters, so if you'd like to takeover just drop me a PM or comment on the thread! Hopefully someone wants to do it as I'd like it to continue

Yes I'd love it to continue, but as specified in my PM to you I can't commit the time to running it unfortunately.

I've managed to stick with it, but I know what you mean, the writing is dire. I always enjoy this thread, so I hope someone takes over the reins.

Why bother this year, Corrie's sunk, most of the characters are extremly dislikeable, boring or both. It's obvious who would make a favourites list, Sally, Carla, Roy, Deirdre, Ken, Tim, Norris, Steve, Audrey and Gail. There's the top ten, sorted straight away, and probably in winning order too. Just missing out on the final cut would be Eva, Craig, Emily's ghost and Darryl the rat. All done.
