I like munching through a tube of Pringles whilst walking or enjoying a beer at home. All flavours are nice...

Well not all. I bought today 'Thai Sweet Chilli' in the orange can. I was VERY hungry after cycling 12 miles in heavy traffic and needed a burst of flavour.

This flavour is very poor. It tastes a mixture of cardboard and Dulux wall emulsion (with pepper added). My appetite faded fast after two so I passed the tube to my friend. He said 'tastes like paint'!

What's with this flavour? Anyone actually like it?

I really think I am going to have to throw the tube away and thats a first for me.

I'm fascinated.
When did you first sample cardboard, Dulux wall emulsion and pepper?
And why?
And your friend has sampled paint?
It sounds as though, where many people have BBQ parties, you and your friends have B&Q parties.

The mix of smell and taste generates almost exactly the same sensation as mixing a can of paint. Cardboard I have sampled!

Rather Pointless sarcastic mocking post.....and I bet you get annoyed when people reply to you like that.

Btw have you ever eaten shit?..I'd guess..no, but youd still say something "tastes like shit" for an unpleasant tasting food....even if youve never tried actual shit, for patently obvious reasons.

I call your "Pointless", "sarcastic", and "mocking" and raise you with "humourless" and "miserable".

It's called a figure of speech. I really don't see the need for such a mocking reply.

I have a tube of that flavour in the cupboard

I have noticed that the last two tubes of Pringles i've had have seemed different. Slightly stale in texture.
They were bought from two different shops and two different flavours.

We're discussing Pringles not Third World starvation.

This is what I have discovered too, I used to like pringles but the last tube I bought tasted stale, I checked and they were well within date - its completely put me off them...which is not a bad thing

Yes, the first tube I bought from LIDL and I wondered if they were sneakily selling off old stock but they had a year left on the use by.
The next was from Morrisons I think and it was the same texture.

Not as light and crisp as I remember them.

Yes which is why you didn't need to post such a sarcastic reply.

They certainly are, what would make you say they weren't? The VAT case proved they were.

Thats a matter of opinion

Not tried the sweet chilli flavour, but my favourite by a mile are the paprika variety, with a mint and beetroot dip...mmmmmmmm

Never really understood the appeal...they are cardboard-tasting at the best of times. So many other better varieties of crisps available. Overrated.

Maybe the fact that they're not made from potatoes?

I used to love Pringles, but I'm not keen anymore. They are very expensive too now, and the boxes have shrunk. I hate the thought of being ripped off.

They are still crisps as the VAT case proved. They are 42% potato by the way.

So 58% non potato content.
You do take your Pringles seriously Walter.
Do you have any of their knitwear range?
This is very swish

If it is your wish to come across as snobby, high handed and sanctimonious you generally are suceeding with your posts on F&D. If this is your aim then you have suceeded , if not then try and be a bit less up yourself.

My opinion only of course.

I'm atleast 42% water, doesn't mean I'm made from water.

And of, course, you're very welcome to express it.
I just can't get passionate about Pringles somehow.
