Nexus 10 - still worth it?

My original Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is well past its best now, so I've been looking at possible new 10" tablets.

The Nexus 10 dates back to October 2012 so is old in technology terms, but the specs still seem good when compared to the current Samsung Galaxy Tab (http://www.phonearena.com/phones/com...ones/7870,7551)

I also prefer plain Android as found on the Nexus devices, rather than the modified versions.

At £289 is the Nexus 10 still worth the price? Or are there any other 10" pure Android tablets around?

I bought a Nook HD 9", and I'm really pleased with it.

Comes with Ice-cream Sandwich and so runs Flash Player OK.

3 year extended warranty, including accident damage, is only 29 pounds.

Also, 10% off if you open a Very account.

I've got a Nexus 7.2, but prefer the Nook.

One of the best buys around at the moment.

My Nexus 10 16GB is one year old next month, and as it cost £319 I would say that the Nexus 10 32GB @ £289 is a bargain.
There is not a tablet on the market with a superior screen resolution.

Read this article of 2014 where Nexus 10 still comes second in the top 20 tablets.

I've had my Nexus 10 just about a year now & it's still my favourite gadget. The 4k screen is lovely & so are the front facing speakers. I do virtually all my day to day tech activities on it.

I've been holding out for a 2nd generation Nexus 10 for months now but it doesn't look as if it is ever going to happen. I love my original Nexus 7 but sometimes it would be nice to have a larger screen.

I went down that path, I had a Nexus 7, loved it but wanted a bigger screen. I've never regretted upgrading to the 10, but wouldn't want to pay £300 for one in 2014.

Update on rumours on the 2014 Nexus 10

http://www.techradar.com/news/mobile...0-2013-1194159

There are several websites which just keep recycling speculation every few days. It will be made by HTC, then it's being done by LG then it's Motorola, then back again. Most of it is without any foundation and is just done as clickbait.

I was put off getting a Nexus 10 last year due to rumours of a new version soon after the updated Nexus 7. Months later there's still no firm news, I also read something about HTC making a new N10 but it's predicted to be Q3 2014 which is quite some time away (and might not be true anyway).

The Samsung Note 10.1 looks good but I'm not really a fan of TouchWiz after using original Android. If only they did a Google Play Edition!

Yes, the 2014 Note 10.1 looks good but I'm not a fan of TouchWiz either and it is a little on the expensive. There really does seem to be a gap in the market for a pure Android 10 inch tablet with a decent spec for around £300.

I also wish Samsung would make their product range easier to understand as they just have too many models with similar names.

I still love my 14 month old n10. The screen is amazing.

I bit the bullet and ordered one, it still seems to have good reviews and specs despite its age.

Knowing my luck they'll announce a new model any time now

Google are still trying to charge £389 for the 32GB, but it's widely available for £289 on Amazon, Co-op Electricals, Simply Electronics and others..

You shouldn't regret it, the screen is awesome, as is the speakers, and runs lag free with KitKat.

I've got my Nexus 10 now and am very happy so far I've been playing Asphalt 8 just to test it out, as that's a very demanding game. It runs smoothly, with no lag and the graphics look awesome. The screen itself is excellent too and great for HD videos.

The Nexus 10 may be quite old now but it still seems to be a very capable tablet and worth the £289 (32GB).

10% off doesn't apply to "audio, gaming, computers and tablets", if you read the terms & conditions.

Have you tried it?

I had a 30 pound off voucher, and that woked ok when I bought my tablet.

Give them a ring if it's not working, I feel sure they will give you the new customer discount.
