Don't assume, its unlikely. You'd have to be a complete numpty to suggest it wasn't a bought in format.

I didn't.

Well it got a plug during Saturday Night Takeaway last night - Steve Rider obviously loves it to have remained with ITV having been sidelined for Adrian Chiles to pretty much only present the BTCC.

Then they end up losing the rights to show most football because BT Sport paid more, Plus football organisers are fed up with Adrian Chiles

it's 6x40 mins I think, so as you wished!

If it does well you could see a 12x45min series being commissioned or something.

Anyway I've just had a call from the boss, Looks like I'll be off to stuttgart for a 14 day Engineering/Business thingy, and after I get back from that I go on holiday to Italy for 2 weeks so It's likely I wont be around for 4-5 weeks after about easter.

You will have a break from me and I'm going to be out of the loop when back!

The Guess List is basically a rip off of Blankety Blank 2 contestants on one side and 6 "celebrity's" on the other side. BBC running out of ideas I can see it flopping really badly if they don't schedule it right.

Ah! It's started, the Traditional DS arguments being brought out as usual.

Maybe we should just wait and see. As For the BBC running out of ideas, I think TV in general has run out of ideas so nothing new at all really.

It's called The Guess list by the way.

As for the scheduling, your right. If it ends up gainst BGT (which it's bound knowing the beeb) it will probably not do too well, Doctor Who couldn't even do well so scheduling is crucial. So it should either go before BGT or after. Trouble is BBC one don't have much else to put around it, I presume Let's Get Ready to Tumble will go on later before the world cup.

I see the loss of the football as a great opportunity for ITV to really turn around Tuesdays. Due to the presence of the ECL and FA Cup replays from August to May, this makes it difficult for ITV to schedule dramas as their runs would be interrupted by football, hence the so called flopzones on Tuesdays when the football isn't on. Also the Europa League going isn't such a huge loss to them as this is a second tier competition and only really dedicated football fans would be interested in a quarter final between two Russian teams.

No adverts are being aired during Catchphrase; just trailers. I assume they're expecting low viewing figures for it.

EDIT: The third internal break has adverts.

As has been mentioned before the Flopzone started when Champions League matches were on a Wednesday. It has nothing to do with football.

I wonder if the BBC are trying to give The Guess List a soft launch, up against BGT it won't be expected to do well but will allow them to gauge audience reaction. If it's well received then they can try it in a bigger slot, maybe in Autumn leading into Strictly. Also if it is good, then there's a small chance it could grow and hold its own against BGT.

Itv are heavily hyping their major new Tommy Cooper drama, with still over a month to go until it airs: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RH7nJ...NVEBRvwL0EW8Gw

They desperately want this to get some BAFTA nominations and overnight ratings of 6m+, given the major promotion and publicity they are giving it.

Glenn Aylett, if anything the loss of football will hit Itv Tuesdays really hard. If you look at ratings on Tuesdays for the last year, pretty much the only time they've rated well besides IAC/BGT is when they've aired football. Even all foreign ties have managed to get 3m+, more than the abysmal 2m they often get for their cheap documentaries in that 8-10pm slot. Mark my words Glenn, Itv will really struggle on Tuesdays [more than atm] once the CL contract is gone. The introduction of BT Sport to British tv has been a blessing in disguise for the BBC, who have seen their arch rivals Itv lose both the FA Cup and Champions League as a result of BT's financial power. The weaker Itv are on Tuesdays, the more chance of BBC1 rating better, so I foresee lots of upcoming BBC1 Tuesday night drama successes over the next few years.

Funny isnt it - ITV have revived nearly every old gameshow format they can get their hands on yet its BBC thats running out of ideas? Is that double standards I hear?

Exactly, you can't pin the "Same old same old" or "Running out of ideas" arguments on to any channel, I'd say it similar across the board.

One last week of Saturday/Sunday TV before it goes to sleep for the summer (for me)
The Voice UK and Takeaway have both been brilliant so far this series. Shame they both end on Saturday.

They can only air 40 minutes between 6-11pm, and only 12 minutes an hour. Therefore 36 minutes will presumably air between 7-10pm, leaving just 4 minutes for the 6pm or 10pm hour.

I hope Endeavour can return well tonight, was very solid last year so should open above 5million tonight, I can see The Musketeers perhaps slipping just below 4m but hopefully it can hold up as well.

5.6M (exc. +1) exactly would do me nicely for this.

Anything less and it's a complete and utter failure. Any more and it's just...greedy.

Yes but about 5 or 6 years later so not really relevant

If people in TV only took jobs if they knew they were going to get more than 5 years out of it, nobody would be in work.

Which is why it airs on ITV4 as part of a wider portfolio of lesser sports for the dedicated sports fan. Not sure what point you are making.

About 90% of the sports channels are made up of this sort of stuff that just fills the space between the big premier league games.

I could respond to that by saying BBC1 Tuesday drama may find it tougher as ITV may start to air dramas on a Tuesday, but I won't because I know you'll just come back with a press release, marking your words that that would definally not happen as ITV will just get worse and worse and fall into oblivion.

The problem with Takeaway and The Voice being lower than expected is because they've gone directly opposite each other. The BBC should've scheduled The Voice for a later start, and whilst it would've ran late, it would've had no competition for ITV. Plus, The Voice did quite well in its later slots last year. Maybe even aired Casualty before The Voice at 7pm, leading into The Voice at 7:50pm to give a free-run away from competition between 8:25 and 10pm.

They don't show many adverts between 6pm and 6:45pm every night of the week, so they can be saved up for later. The only time they do is when there is a notable flop in the schedule.

You'll notice that the regional news and ITV Evening News have adverts on Tuesdays and have also done recently on Fridays.
