It was actually renewed for 2 series in March, quite how I don't know with the ratings it got. Must be cheap to make I suppose.

I agree. I think the BBC would stand a better chance of succeeding with Tess and Claudia at the helm (which has proven quite quirky during those times when Claudia substituted for Bruce last autumn) than pairing Tess up with a bloke.

God forbid that people should be "fooled" into being entertained.

It was an obvious choice in some ways but I did not think thats the way they would go with lots of able presenters around. Then again have the Fail ever got a story about the BBC right?

Excellent rating for Undeniable last night. I thought it would do very well - it had a very strong cast with Claire Goose and Peter Firth in the main parts. Claire Goose is brilliant. Haven't seen her in anything for a while. ITV is doing very well in that Monday 9pm slot at the moment.

Coronation Street posted a great share at 7.30 as well. 40% is excellent. EastEnders continues to underwhelm.

Made in Chelsea returned strongly.. wasn't expecting it to get its biggest overnight figure ever. Michael McIntyre also doing OK - it's encouraging that it increased a bit from last week. Hopefully it'll continue to see some growth as I think it should be doing a bit better than it's currently doing.

Reported in the Sun as well today.

The Sun are usually fairly decent with their TV related news/info. Either way no one knows for sure until it is confirmed officially.

The only thing surprising about the news is it's the BBC seemingly making a sensible decision.

Cowell has already been offered two shows to take part in from America networks. He says currently isnt the right time to go back.

It would shut those up who moan that women are always needed to have balance.

I'd agree, I don't think it'd be a great move for him. I bet ABC tried to get him on Rising Star.

My guess is he'll judge the last ever American Idol (probably in a year or two). Or potentially replace Howard Stern if he leaves America's Got Talent.

"Strictly Come Dancing" really needs a strong comedic host in order to hold on to any restless viewers drifting back to other channels when perhaps the celebrities arent quite so twinkle toed.
Tess Daly would surely be an assured choice this autumn, as its doubtful BBC one would loose both presenters in the same year and therefore risk alienating its loyal audience with too much change.

Claudia Winkleman is more doubtful though. She's a marmite personality and perhaps would irritate as many as she does entertain with her off the wall chatter and kooky wardrobe, but I somehow see Charlotte Moore wanting to raise the profile of female presenters during her BBC one reign as controller so Claudia is in the right place at the right time for promotion.

I dont think she would do anything for "Strictly Come Dancing" ratings though, for example if Ant and Dec were to host they would add extra viewers. So BBC one really need to think seriously about who they want to appoint to such a prestigious show as it is referenced alot when it comes to audience appreciation of the BBC and licence fee money. Graham Norton would be the sharpest live presenter they have.

Claudia is not the right choice. She is ok in small doses but I can see alot of viewers tiring of the mumbling fringe

But were we not told that some people were tired of the mumbling Bruce as well?

Big ouch for C4

Channel 4’s epic drama New Worlds is tanking. Its audience slipped to 490,000 (2.2%), down from 803,000 (3.6%) last week. #tellyratings

They dont need to worry - it will probably get nominated for 10 Baftas next year.

Not going to pay the bills with Baftas though...

The Call Centre, back on BBC3 for second series with 979,000 viewers, 4.3% share, up 51.9% on slot ave #bbc3

Down from 1.05m last year, share down from 4.9%, not a bad result.

2.7m (12%) for the Great British Sewing Bee final on BBC2.

Have the BBC Trust opened a consultation yet on BBC3 - can't find anything on their website.”

I think viewers want it but other channels complain about BBC1+1. Funny that they don't complain about each others +1 channels launching.

I think Channel 4's New Worlds will need to discover New Worlds to find viewers with BARB boxes! What an unmitigated flop. Channel 4 don't have much luck with drama ratings apart from The Mill recently.

Just think of the ratings Tipping Point could pull in if it was presented with someone with charisma.
