Oh ouch at 15 to 1, the nostalgia factor has well and truly run out now, I wonder how the primetime celebrity versions are going to do?

EastEnders was the most-watched soap of the day, claiming 6.58m (32.1%) at 7.30pm on BBC One as Sonia learned that she has the breast cancer gene. The Walford soap was up against the Chelsea vs. PSG game on ITV, but BBC Three's repeat screening secured 483k (3.4%) at 10.30pm.

Emmerdale attracted 6.13m (33.0%) at 7pm on ITV and 235k (1.1%) on +1 as Priya finally sought help for her eating disorder.

15 to 1 has launched in an already overcrowded tea time quiz slot against established favourites.

cant help thinking it would have been better to go against tipping point at 4.00pm -5.00pm thus avoiding a clash with the big 2 at 5.00pm

Better still DOND & 15-1 are overlong at 60 mins - they should be reduced to 45 mins and be schedules as

3.30 DOND
4.15 15 to 1 / Countdown (6 months each?)
5.00 CDWM

Probably fine. Even a repeat of the last one did a massive number.

Celebrity dumbed down rubbish they're all over it. Anything with a modicum of intelligence required, no thank you. Much rather watch sodding Tipping Point.

Goodness me, that's absolutely horrendous. Biggest drama flop of the year so far, no question.

Doesn't appeal to me but having said that it looks a high quality production. How on earth is it flopping so spectacularly ?

EastEnders isn't looking strong at all - though the quality has very much improved since the non-event days of Lorraine Newman. No chance of the figures increasing for Lucy Beale's exit over the Easter weekend. It's just not capturing viewers' imaginations.

I'm hearing Can't Pay? We'll Take It Away!: Final Demand drew 1.6m (7.2%) at 9PM last night (inc. +1). Not bad for what was essentially a repackaged repeat with only a few new bits against tough competition like Champions League Football.

BBC Two's The Battle for Britain’s Breakfast was well behind on 1.0m (4.6%) and was pressed strongly for fourth by BBC Three's The Cell Centre which returned with a robust audience of 0.98m (4.3%), peaking at 1.2m (5.4%) in the final quarter hour of the programme.

Another instance of weak ratings reflecting a weak story about an unsympathetic character that's gone on way too long … Emmerdale has become very patchy and this is a prime example of where it's dropped the ball.

I agree. A much better programme quality wise but I'm not sure EastEnders will see a significant boost with the Lucy Beale storyline until the big reveal next year.

The share seems to be pretty stable for Eastenders. I would like to think that the show would be able to pull itself up to similar levels as Corrie, but people like me tend to watch at different times via iplayer or pvr.

Having been in hospital recently I am still catching up with the episodes that I have missed, and one thing that I noticed was that having no internet and no spoilers, gave me a chance to watch the show without knowing what was coming up. I think that is where Eastenders needs to change. There is less of a need to tune in on the night when you know roughly what is coming up, and try as much as you can, you can not avoid spoilers.

I wonder why New Worlds doesn't have the appeal The Devil's Whore did?

Great night for Channel 5. Average share of 6.6% between 8PM and 11PM. Nightmare Neighbour Next Door surprised me and held onto virtually all of its premiere audience. As mentioned the repackaged Can't Pay? did very well. And The Mentalist coped fine with the sudden change of timeslot:

Quote:
“Channel 5's Nightmare Neighbour Next Door interested 1.5m (6.7%) at 8pm (157k/0.7%), followed by Can't Pay? We'll Take It Away! with 1.5m (6.6%) at 9pm (157k/1.0%). The Mentalist thrilled 1.1m (6.5%) at 10pm.”

Hope your okay.

And talking about people catching up, a woman on the bus yesterday put it on her phone and the theme tune blurted right out!

She needs to invest in some earphones.

It's slow going but I will eventually get back to my usual self - thank you. That is what happens when a transit van hits a Marky on a zebra crossing.

Hollyoaks:

C4: 952k (5.6%)
E4: 947k (5.1%)

The E4 figure has been strong recently and is close to overtaking C4 now.

Hollyoaks is rating great at the minute, 4/5 E4 episodes were over 1m inc +1 last week and both Mon and Tues EPs this week are as well. We never get the C4 + 1 rating so E4 may be ahead combined.

Certainly in a much better position than it was a couple of years ago.

Hope your ok. I get where coming from though with so many ways to catch up now, some people just use that as there option. I wish they would watch live though as many have said EE has improved a lot and it really deserves the ratings to show that.

It wasn't the celebrity version that asked "Dr Watson is the companion of which fictional detective?", as the civilian version did on Saturday.
