And that, even if it wasn't deliberate.
Ha!

The Voice still hasn't topped the highest rating of the previous series. Doing decent numbers but not the blockbuster it was in series 1.

#Splash! ended last night with 3.89m/17.2%, its second most watched episode of the series. #TheVoiceUK averaged 7.66m/33.7% - 780k down.
A shame the Voice dropped but it was to be expected still a good figure none the less.

In fairness I think most of us no series one had a freakishly good start.

Splash ended with an 'ok' figure, but not enough to bring it back. Unless for Summer filler?

It would fit better in the Summer. Maybe they could film it outside

Wasnt Pointless its lead in? Reflex was moved to 5.15.
Yeah, but even Pointless (as versatile as it is) would be massively down on the Rugby peak figures that were leading in before- I think this is pretty much the level for The Voice without other factors, its the top show of a second level, you have the Behemoths like SCD, BGT and XF and then its The Voice-If it holds mid 6s over the battles/lives I think then that'll be considered a success

BBC1 looks fairly low y its standards, I imagine ITV was boosted by the James Bond film in daytime.

I don't think Splash should be back on the figures for this series, don't forget that numbers will be lower in the summer anyway. As Fudd said last night though it wasn't a bad show, certainly better than some of the dross ITV and BBC have shown, I suppose there is only so much appeal to watching celebs dive though.

I did not think BBC2 was going to see such a boost with the Olympics - its come at a realy good time for them. They are building up some momentum.

Series 1 had us all thinking that The Voice was the next big thing then the ratings dropped. BBC1 still have only one big light entertainment show in Strictly that can get 10m+ audiences. They need another.

I doubt it will have much affect next week. Imagine most viewers cotinued watching The Voice last week because ITV wasn't showing much of interest. No Takeaway is in the schedule, it could also form a lead in to SNT.
The rugby coverage is scheduled to finish at 17:55, followed by news and Pointless. At 17:55 ITV will still be showing news, then there's The Cube to get through. Will be interesting to see how that holds up against a Pointless repeat.

I agree but it's not easy finding those kind of programs.

The lack of rugby a key factor here I feel: BBC One dropped -7.3 all-day share points on last Saturday; ITV was up about +5.0 (from a dismal 8.3% approx). BBC Two up +2.1.

No it isn't but ITV were good at getting them. BBC1 are desperate to have another show on Strictly's level to play in another part of the year.

British television in general needs new 10m LE formats but we have not had one for what 10 years? Thats why we are stuck with the same schedules year after year - fine I suppose if you like them but awful if you dont.

But you could say itv focuses to much on their big guns once they are over there's not much else. At least BBC has tried some different stuff granted most of it not great but still.

Nobodys been good at finding them lately though although with the fragmentation of the audience its increasingly difficult and may never happen again I suppose.
