I sort of liked Bletchley but some of the writing in terms of storytelling was poor - how they deduced half the solutions they came up with just mystifying at times. Still a shame to see it end as it was well made.

Do they have BARB boxes in nursing homes? Doubt it, so wouldn't make a difference.

New Bake Off? BBC2's Big Allotment Challenge digs in with 2.5m viewers, 11.8% share
From John Plunkett Best-ever audience for BBC3’s The Call Centre last night. It phoned in 1.2m (5.4%) viewers. #tellyratings From Jake Kanter |

I find this whole OAP bashing a bit offensive. My Nan is 78 and can quite easily work a Sky + box and she knows how to set programmes for record days in advance. She also watches all sorts of programmes and channels. Not all old people are decrepit and stick to BBC1 all day.
Rant over. Sorry guys if I bring the thread to a meltdown. |

Great start for the Allotment Challenge, it was a surprisingly fun show and I can actually see it growing instead of hovering around the 2.5m mark like Sewing Bee did. It got 2.46m/11.8%, to be more exact thanks to TVRatingsUK. Speaking of which is anyone else annoyed that DS reports seem to have gone down to 1 decimal place? The quality of them just keeps on declining. (I know they haven't released one yet for last night, but this just reminded me of it.) Quote:

Obviously when some of us talk about the OAPs watching BBC1 all the time, I don think anyone is being serious, I'm certainly not. One ofmy grandparents watch BBC1 frequently, the other watches ITV a lot and BBC as well. Its only that the shows on Sunday usually remain srong because they are heavily watched by the older generation. Nothing wrong with that, but its why they always do better than ITV when they're on.
Don't take it seriously |

Emmerdale - 5.55m/30.9% (+1: 188k)
EastEnders - 6.59m/33.8% (BBC3: 405k) Wish the actual rating was bigger but highest Tuesday share since 21st January, highest overall since 13th February. |

The rating and share for EE isn't bad when you compare it to Emmerdale which seems to be lacking any interesting storylines at he moment to keep the audience throughout the week. It only get a boost when Corrie is on. ITV really need to have words with their soap bosses and sort this mess out.

But will EastEnders get a boost with the Lucy storyline? That's the big question.

Itv are doing a full blown advertising campaign for Prey. Billboards, plenty of spot promotion, the lot. An example of one of their on-street bus stop promotions: https://twitter.com/dodgethedraft/st.../photo/1/large
Considering Undeniable launched to 5.8m last week, with fairly little promotion, Prey will need to hit ~6.5million I'd imagine to justify the extra promotional cost and marketing campaign. Prey has been getting heavy trailing so I wouldn't be surprised with around 6.7m exc +1 against non drama competition. Quote:
I think this next week or two, we may witness a turning point for Eastenders. The gap behind Coro last night was less than a million and it wasnt down from last Mondays audience as much as the other soaps. I have a feeling we could see an upward movement, certainly share-wise.
Let's wait and see. We have seen several storylines plugged and ratings have remained static.

It might get an artificial boost at the end of Friday and Monday's episode should be up a slight %.
We'll see. |
