Ant & Dec are good at what they do. I think Takeaway is their best show. I also liked it when it was Noel's House Party!
![]() ![]() I admit I have a blind spot where a certain duo is concerned and expected some praise for them tonight and tommorrow - BUT 2 minutes after the show ended!!! |

I didn't know Edge Of Heaven did this badly. Could it have worked on another night?
"@tvscoops: 'Edge of Heaven' began with 2.7m viewers last night, ITV's smallest ever audience for a first episode of a brand new 9pm scripted series" |

And I'm just a humble Turnip farmer. Turnips, turnips and yet more turnips.
I grow Purple Top Milan turnips, Manchester Market turnips, Tokyo Turnips, Golden Ball turnips, Snow Ball turnips and Green Globe turnips. BUT For Christ sake don't confuse them with the Swede's I grow right next door that include the Airlie Swede the Kenmor Swede the Marian Swede and the Ruta Otofte Swede. Oh their are some great swede's in their but if you feel like picking them for gods sake be careful because after a night on the 2009 sauvignon blanc I accidentally planted some Rutabaga seed in amongst the swede. They include the American Purple Top Rutabaga and the Champion Purple Top Rutabaga and the Collet Vert Rutabaga and the Joan Rutabaga which is most certainly not to be confused with the Laurentian Rutabaga or the Nadmorska Rutabaga or even the Swede Østgota Rutabaga and the Wilhelmsburger Rutabaga. I hope that cleared up the confusion and that this post defused the tension between people in this thread, I have plenty of Turnips, swede's and rutabagas to go around. ![]()

About as predictable as you and others slagging off The Voice yet insisting The X-Factor is "amazing entertainment".
BBC must be kicking themselves they didn't get Ant and Dec on a contract when they had the chance. |

The BBC one day will get Ant and Dec back where they started. It's only a matter of time before Ant and Dec start getting bored of doing an nth series of BGT or IAC. Everything in tv eventually comes to an end. And once IAC/BGT end, the BBC will offer Ant and Dec good opportunities. The ultimate opportunity of having a 10m+ Xmas Day sketch/entertainent/variety show may be too good an offer to decline in the future. At the BBC, they could be at the forefront of the corporation's entertainment genre, acting in major sitcoms and Christmas Day extravaganzas.

Moving away from this BBC v ITV battle for a minute and on to another, do we think Mr Selfridge might be in a shot with beating a returning Musketeers tomorrow night. I can't see the week off having done it any favours.
BBC1 would probably have been better off airing a 4-part drama (I'm sure they'll have one in the cupboard) in the slot pre-BAFTAs then launching Musketeers this week - and hence using the Call the Midwife lead in to help two shows rather than just the one. |

Yeah "The Musketeers" will be neck and neck or lower than "Mr Selfridge" this week. They should have never have broken the run or aired it on Saturday to keep the continuity.

One day they will have accumulated so much money from Itv, they wont need the money anymore and will be willing to take a pay cut and come to the Beeb. Patience, my friend, it will happen.
TV is a pastime. It should not control our lives in a "ITV is better than BBC" or "BBC is better than ITV" sort of way. Anyway, I don't want the BBC to sign up Ant and Dec. The BBC should be finding their own stars. |

You know, even if Ant and Dec were on the BBC, Mars TV or Ken's Turnip Broadcasting Corporation, it's irrelevant.

I think Selfridge should be pretty stable the question as to whether Musketeers will ever stabilise is moot. The week off was stupid and may cause a further decline.
I do think Blandings will plummet to 2.7m though. Last weeks episode was awful. |

Only in your world is 10m on Christmas Day a lucrative opportunity. Why would Ant and Dec give up having 30+ opportunities a year to get an audience in the range of 10m for the chance to get a 10m audience on one day a year for the fraction of the salary?

![]() Like one of those verrucas you catch taking the kids to the swimming pool and takes you 5 years to shift! That's why what ever the weather you should always swim in the sea! When I were a kid and I cut my foot almost in two on a piece of rusty pipe down the beach my caring mother didn't piss around with a plaster on bandages and special wipes, she didn't waste time taking me to see the nurse. She grabbed me and shoved my foot in the sea and told me to man up! Bollocks to health a safety.I've got sidetracked again!
