I have recorded it and I hope for once that it lives up to the hype as I have been disappointed with quite a few in the past.
I'll preface saying it's slow but if you've seen previous HBO stuff you'll expect/understand

Ken's Turnip Broadcasting Corporation - now I would watch that - except when Ant and Dec are on of course.
Here is the schedule for next Saturday on
Ken's Turnip Broadcasting Corporation

5.15pm The Turnip Olympics:
Live coverage of the Turnip Olympics from Ken's front room as we see Ken's wife serving a three course meal consisting of Turnip soup, turnip stew and turnip and custard. Countries compete to see who can eat the most.
6.00 Saturday Night TurnipPie
With Anthony Turnip and DecTurn Ipmartin.
7.00pm The Turnip Singing Show
Turnips attempt to find a singing star as judges listen to them in swivelling pyrex dish.
8.30 The National Turnip lottery
Who will win this weeks jackpot of a sackful of turnips?
8.45 The Great British Turnip Bake Off
9.45 Mrs. Browns Turnips
Agnes Brown and her dysfunctional turnips try and stage a talent contest. But Rory Turnip has something to tell his mother, he has met a gay carrot and is in love, but Agnes is unimpressed.
10.15 KTBC News
10.30 Film: The Best Exotic Turnip B&B
Elderly turnips are invited to start a new life in Scotland in a rundown B&B and soon a clash of cultures begins.

NOTE: For those [under]predicting The Voice ratings (yes Samuel, that's you ), it's worth noting that episodes aired after 6 Nations Rugby have been significantly boosted. The most recent, and most comparable with last nights, was 8.44m. A good starting point for working out where it might land... of course it could lose 2.5m but I doubt it!

Saturday Night Takeaway is winning the social media buzz over the Voice. Higher buzz on zeebox, more tweets, more talk about it. As expected, it looks like the bookies favourite SNT will win the ratings battle, as we all predicted. But hopefully the Voice can hit the 6million target against Saturday Night Takeaway's 7m+. Anything more than 6-6.5m would be a bonus under these very tough circumstances against the much trailed and heavily hyped SNT launch show.
Oh God, I can already tell that tomorrow morning is going to be even worse than usual when The Voice amazes us all by smashing its 6m target and Takeaway flops with under 7m.

I think Ant and Dec can never be underestimated, and perhaps getting a good lead from "The Cube" will keep viewers on the itv channel.
I'm not sure The Cube has ever provided a good lead-in to anything! It's continued survival on itv is something of a mystery. And I doubt it will start doing that well tonight in a 6pm slot opposite the rugby.

The BBC one day will get Ant and Dec back where they started. It's only a matter of time before Ant and Dec start getting bored of doing an nth series of BGT or IAC. Everything in tv eventually comes to an end. And once IAC/BGT end, the BBC will offer Ant and Dec good opportunities. The ultimate opportunity of having a 10m+ Xmas Day sketch/entertainent/variety show may be too good an offer to decline in the future. At the BBC, they could be at the forefront of the corporation's entertainment genre, acting in major sitcoms and Christmas Day extravaganzas. One day they will have accumulated so much money from Itv, they wont need the money anymore and will be willing to take a pay cut and come to the Beeb. Patience, my friend, it will happen.
The thing is that A&D can do everything they want at ITV. IAC and BGT won't suddenly end and there will be time to try new projects before then. They're not sketch artists or comedians, they're TV presenters. The ultimate opportunity for them is to be presenting BGT or IAC or their own show on Saturday nights. If they wanted to do a sitcom then they'd be doing a sitcom. Also worth mentioning is that they have a core team of people they trust - James Grant (who are very cosy with itv) and a small pool of producers that they work with and have done for 10 years now (particularly evident in the credits on the show tonight). They're very tied to itv these days. And not just in terms of the massive money (which itv can afford to pay because they know that A&D will do 3 established hit shows).

There was a whole episode of Pointless Celebrities in between the rugby and The Voice. I don't think it's comparable to that 8.44m episode.

Paranoia on new levels tonight. I had to go back and re-read to make sure I hadn't missed an entire page of praise for Takeaway...

Thanks to these two seemingly inoffensive posts shortly after the end of Takeaway...

Saturday Night Takeaway was class tonight. Pure entertainment

Deserves a good rating.
The return of good Saturday night TV - Ant and Dec were on form. Superb show - very funny.
after which the thread moved onto a discussion about scheduling of The Voice rounds lasting an hour, we got a meltdown from one forum member, ably prodded along by another!

I can't believe how many people were "swooning" after Ant and Dec literally two minutes after SNT ended.
But to see grown adults going all goo-goo and gaa-gaa over Ant and Dec is baffling.

But it's like reading the cover of a schoolgirls English exercise book where it is covered with "I Heart Ant and Dec!"
But, my dismay is at the instant swooning of Ant and Dec, as if they are the most important people in the world.
But, I am allowed to comment on how posters on here (and social media in general) seem to turn to jelly and go giddy with admiration for them each time they're on.
Really suprised to see Ant and Dec being praised on here barely 2 minutes after their show ended. I really could not have predicted that.
You have to remember you that not allowed to criticise the geordie boys or their acolytes 'scweam and scweam until they are sick'
d expected some praise for them tonight and tommorrow - BUT 2 minutes after the show ended!!!
So we went from 2 posts praising Takeaway to having many more complaining somewhat hysterically that people had praised Takeaway... apparently too soon after it finished. And this doesn't even include how the debate somehow invoked X Factor again!

And now I'm posting about it too which highlights the ridiculous situation whereby having read through tonight's postings, the main topic of discussion about Takeaway wasn't whether it was good or bad but instead a weird argument about whether or not 2 positive posts about Ant & Dec is acceptable?!

I mean really, what's going on?!

I think the predictions for both shows are reasonable. There are only so many available
viewers. I'd like to think both could do well. I can't see The Voice getting 8m opposite Takeaway.

Oh God, I can already tell that tomorrow morning is going to be even worse than usual when The Voice amazes us all by smashing its 6m target and Takeaway flops with under 7m.
I think it's very likely one show will be just under 7m and one just over 7m. Which one is down to a toss of a coin.

I'm not sure The Cube has ever provided a good lead-in to anything! It's continued survival on itv is something of a mystery. And I doubt it will start doing that well tonight in a 6pm slot opposite the rugby.
The Cube stays on because it won a couple if BAFTA awards. I got bored of it after one series.

If you made your name on a channel hosting a format you don't own there is no point moving. They were actors originally and moved into presenting but they have acted here and there during their ITV run. Remaking an episode of The Likely Lads, the movie Alien Autopsy. And they are going to film a sitcom pilot.

That changes it slightly, I thought it ran straight in this week. Although Pointless Celebrities will still get a massive boost which will carry through to some extent (in fact it could be interesting to see just how well it does this week, that's a brilliant slot).

TVUK won't be doing 8.44m. But the target certainly is not 6m.

Predictions:
The Voice - 7m-7.3m
Takeaway - 6.8m-7.1m (inc +1).

So I'm giving us a 50% chance of a +1 debate! In the end I think those final 10 minutes of The Voice could be decisive this week and we might even see one of its better peak ratings of the series. So I suppose we might also get a head-to-head argument, possibly including or excluding +1, tomorrow!

In regards to The Voice UK I think the BBC really should look to switching to live shows from The Battle Rounds onwards with allowing the public to vote straight away on the battles. They could strip it across two weekends with two judges' battles per day so the numbers would eventually be cut from 24 to 12; then the 'proper' performance shows can begin.

I think the issue with the battle rounds, as well as the potential of it becoming a 'screechfest', is that the audience can feel disconnected as it's a clear head-to-head and they may disagree with the result meaning they don't feel as involved in the show. nI think making the battles a live vote round might help that.

Overnights for 2013 series of Saturday Night Takeaway

Episode 1 - 6.46m (28.3%) [+1 610k]
Episode 2 - 6.74m (30.1%) [+1 430k]
Episode 3 - 6.48m (29.6%) [+1 255k]
Episode 4 - 6.69m (29.4%) [+1 269k]
Episode 5 - 7.33m (31.7%) [+1 421k]

Episode 6 - 6.7m (28.7%) [+1 ~ 0.5m]
------* vs The Voice average of 6.24m

Episode 7 - 6.76m (30.3%) [+1 541k]
------* vs The Voice average of 6.43m (28.5%)

Overnight ratings are for the main ITV showing and exclude +1.
+1 rating listed separately in brackets.
Episode 5 had a bit of snow boost.
The Voice ratings are the overnight average for the entire episode.

The Voice UK: 7.25m (31.2%)
* peak: 9.24m (40.3%)
Saturday Night Takeaway (inc +1): 6.48m (27.8%)
* peak: 7.42m (31.0%)

Convincing win for The Voice, and not even a +1 debate needed either.

Thought SNT would get a bit more, but good win for The Voice. I predicted 7.2m in RPG so I'm slightly annoyed

Will be interesting to see where they go in future weeks.

Excellent for the Voice. Solid for SNT too

Good ratings all round. Well done to both

Maybe just maybe this is the year the Battle Rounds become a winner

Bang on what I predicted for both. Ratings are out a little early aren't they?

Can we please not turn this thread into a battle ground? It's unpleasant to read.

Fantastic ratings win for the Voice, it won by over a million viewers and higher than any episode last year which faced SNT! That is SNT's lowest rating since its revival, looks like it may end up struggling this series. Really happy with how the ratings have turned out for last night .

Its a role reversal of last year when TVUK started midway between SNT series

Well done to both both, but convincing win for TVUK - the rugby and 10minute unoverlap obviously helped a lot.

What did SNT get without +1? Was it below 6m?

9.2million peak for the Voice bodes very well for next week's episode which has about 1hr not airing against SNT. If it can get around 9.2m at 8.25pm next week and the audience continues to build up steadily as we head toward 9pm, it could be peaking at around 10m, which will boost its average next week. Very clever of the BBC to have a 2hr10min show nexct week, will prevent the Voice's ratings falling next Saturday and artificially boost its ratings. Happy days for the Beeb really, pretty much everything so far this year has been working out well for them.

BBC PR brigade all out in full force today:

Michelle Osborn ‏@michellosborn 1m
#TheVoiceUK peaked at 9.2 mill, average audience of 7.3 million - biggest show of the night across all channels #BBC1

Harriet Rhodes ‏@hl_rhodes 8m
Average audience of 7.3m for @BBCTheVoiceUK on #BBC1. The highest rating show of the day across all channels.

Sam Hodges ‏@Sam_Hodges 10m
Average audience of 7.3m for #TheVoiceUK on #BBC1. The highest rating show of the day across all channels.

No word from jscummins or Largey.

UK TV Ratings ‏@TVRatingsUK 1m
Eng-Ire in the #6Nations peaked with 7.11m/37.6% at 5.40pm. The full programme averaged 5.15m/33.6%. Italy-Scotland averaged 2.25m/22.4%.

Good peak there.

Not quite as close as I thought - SNT lower than I was predicting . Do they usually timeshift about the same?
