Hang on one sec. Why is Dragons Den on at 11 next week?

Is it worth ITV using the animated series of Mr Bean (CITV for the moment) to air ext year as a pre-primetime lead in to bigger programmes? The same could be said for Thunderbirds which both could do well.

Yep excellent promo! Hopefully those babies deliver good ratings and a good show!

Someone mentioned this not so long ago and it was expected shortly - I think we postulated that being 90mins it might take the Gently slot when it finishes. It is 3 episodes.

The BBC must be planning their over-runs in advance.

jake lyle - the post relating to The Musketeers length came after I asked... I think! Why is it such an obscure length? Shows shortened so adverts can be added tend to be 45-50 minutes in length.

I thought Musketeers excellent again tonight - of course I was probably the only person in the country watching it - at least according to BARB.

Yeah is BARB really right all the time? Some ratings post hell of a low or underwhelmingly these days!!

Thought "The Musketeers" was also a good solid story tonight but the ratings may tell a different tale tomorrow.

It just looks less intense and more entertaining in the promo. But whether that actually translates on the programme and into an audience is different to a 3 min trailer. But Kylie and Ricky give the show a better feel I would say and hopefully "The Voice" isn't going to start dropping viewers

Maybe giving the minority of the population who are planning to stay up for the Oscars something to watch until the ceremony starts at 1:30am?

This. This whole series has so far been great thanks to them focusing more on the entertainment factor and less being oh so serious. As you said this is mainly down to Ricky and Kylie, but we can't take anything away from both Tom and Will as I enjoy those as well.

You're in Wales where BBC Two are showing the Welsh Open snooker from 19:00 to 22:00, delaying Top Gear and Dragon's Den by two hours. If you have Sky you can opt back in by watching one of the other nations' versions of BBC Two.

I thought Jessie J was a great judge but the show has become much warmer in tone since her and Dannys departure. The panel were not right before although I thought Jessie J would pull in viewers but I have been wrong there as Kylie adds much more genuine warmth to the show. She doesn't feel as serious as Jessie was either. This is bound to help the ratings and next week trailer looks a little less dull than previous years. However its still early days as to whether it can hold the start its already made. "Saturday Night Takeaway" will up its game for next week and they are likely to go neck and neck for viewers I reckon.

Here's how The Voice has done at the auditions stage over the 3 series (overnight ratings):

2012: 9.4m (4 episodes)
2013: 7.2m (6 episodes)
2014: 8.0m (7 episodes)

Unsurprising to see if up y-o-y - although I would have thought an 8m+ average would have been achievable given the move to January, the lack of opposition (excluding SNT last night) and with no BGT to contend with this time around. The big question now is where does it go from here. Will it follow the trend of the last two series and take a rather large hit or can it finally reverse the trend and remain stable?

Top Gear programmes have a habit of lasting for longer than their allocated 60 minutes. A quick check on iPlayer reveals tonight's episode ran for 1 hour 2 minutes and 30 seconds. (I knew it ended past 9pm but I didn't notice its exact starting time.)

I think the truth is those who dont like it for whatever reason will never be satisfied with whatever it does. It however does the job for BBC1.

Mmm good to get the stats. The first series only has 4 episodes of auditions giving it less room to drop. The third series looks not bad considering thats a seven part audition process. Id be interested to see the figures on the later stages too. I just cant tell what this series will do. All the indications are it should actually trend downwards but could it possibly stay stable this year over March.

Can I just ask, did we have less epioesdes last year of the Voice overall then? Or have we got the same amount of episodes this year including the extra Blind?

Its bound to lower but might suprise some and hold up better than the other years especially if the positive vibe continues.

I thought it was the same amount except there is one extra blind but only 2 battle shows as opposed to 3 last year. I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong.
