Why was Beth given such a graceless routine? If she was given something more graceful like the other girls, she would surely get higher marks than them.

'cos she's not one of their favourites although she is one of the best skaters.

Sucks but that's what these reality shows are like.

Cant understand the marking. Yes and why is Beth given graceless routines.

The judges don't like the fact Beth won last year so see her as a threat to their chosen ones!

Agree with all of the above.

Have to agree with the comments, Beth is being thrown under the bus IMO im sure the judges all want her gone im not sure why they dont seem to like her at all?(especially Jason and Ashley)

They don't want Beth.

I don't understand why the judges don't like her, as I think she is a great dancer and a very humble person. I hope she won't be in the bottom two tonight.

As I said before the Bias they have against Beth makes a mockery of that panel. She isn't some stageschool child and is just herself.
If she was falling over and not doing the routines fair enough she is doing the routine THEY create for her and makes no sense why they keep picking it apart. The Girl has a patience of a Saint I would have told them F off weeks ago.

I wanted her gone from week one.

Have to ask why you seem to dislike her to want her gone so early? edit.. Oh she is staying another week

Beth survives again, much to the judges' distaste

She is used to being judged, critiqued and coached, so she won't answer back directly. She is an Olympian and she would not want to be anything other than technically brilliant. She was always a very technical gymnast too. She also still has adoring fans across the country who are young gymnasts that want to be just like her. She is the British Olga or Nadia, to them.

Me too, bless her but she is as dull as ditch water and not a very good dancer. Only the Judges seem to recognize that!

I think she should get more praise for what she can do and she has given a few good performances. Most of the time though I do find her very wooden to watch so I'm hoping she can really improve in the next couple of weeks.

I'm glad Beth stayed this week and I hope she is given much better choreography next week.

They give her a cheesy routine, she is self conscious, Jason complains, she gets even more votes. If they really do want her out, they' re failing miserably.

When I watched her tonight, my first thought was how much her dancing has improved this series - the performance side of her routine. She matched Hayley and Suzanne in the team skate, I thought. She's doing okay, in my book.

I feel a bit sorry for Beth. She tries so hard, and her skating skills are excellent (according to those who know, i.e. Robin, Nicky & Karen), but she seems unable to inject any feeling or honest emotion into her routines. Yes, she now pulls faces and points a finger, but that is undoubtedly what she has been told to do, it certainly doesn't come across as natural. But bodily she seems stiff and wooden, and consequently quite dull to watch. I know she is an Olympian and not an actress, but other sportspeople have learned to emote - even Kyran.

I think Beth is the strongest lady skater, unfortunately the judges seem to prefer Hayley.

Prefer her to suzanna or hayley...those two come across as desperate to win. The public seemed to agree as far as suzanna is concerned...

They REALLY prefer Quinn. In fact the whole show could be re-titled 'Waiting For Quinn To Win'!!

The post you quoted is referring to the females in the competition so I don't really understand why you brought Ray into it.

Aside from that, yes Ray is preferred but on merit, it's hardly his or anyone else's fault he is the best overall.

I have just watched the Olympic Ice Dancers, they are fluid, graceful, technical but they are not using jazz hands and facial expressions to convey emotion. Beth is the closet to what is required for Ice Dancing, if she was given a routine like Hayley's, she would have been fluid, expressive and technical. Instead knowingly they give her gimmicky rubbish, which Jason will hate, compared to the others.

Yes, poor Beth must despair with the routines they keep giving her and they insist on making her look ridiculous too.
