No way is it nearly 10 years since he started as The Doctor! I can't be one of those 'I feel old' people! I'm too young to feel old!

But happy birthday to my favourite Doctor, hope he has a fantastic day

I know how you feel, I think im 'too young to feel old' being in my mid twenties until I remember there are kid's running around, who wouldn't even be able to remember a time when doctor who wasn't around, whereas I can still remember the hype when it was coming back with Eccleston, and it was all new to me, so it's not like I was looking out for it, it just seemed to be everywhere (rightly deserved hype, as it turned out of course)

He didn't care about Doctor Who's 50th so I certainly don't give a damn about his.

Harsh. I was disappointed about his decision not to appear in the 50th but not enough to hold a grudge against him forever, as you seem to be.

Not at all, I've just got no interest in him or what he does.

I bet he's gutted about that.

fair enough. it's just to me, he is an important doctor who figure, being the one who brought the character to life for a new generation, and I know people are sometimes interested in this kind of thing, especially those who think of him as their favourite doctor, so thought it was worth a mention.

Some would wonder why you even bothered to comment on a thread about someone you have no interest in.

well clearly you are bothered as you're still posting bitterly about what he didn't do six months ago.

Hard to believe his 50, makes me feel old, lol!

You are doing a very poor job of demonstrating this. If you didn't give a damn and had no interest in him you would a) not be posting in this thread and b) wouldn't be so obviously bitter about him.

Like people who dial in to telephone polls in order to pick the 'don't mind' option?

It was Michael E Briant's 72nd birthday last week : http://www.planetmondas.com/2014/02/...hael-e-briant/

Just a suggestion - read the posts before you reply. Oh, but that wouldn't suit your argumentative agenda would it? Just a throwaway line by me, no bitterness involved.

It took me all of 10 seconds to post a reply in this thread as I was trawling through the DW forum, hardly a massive time investment was it and definitely no hint of bitterness. You do get some funny ideas in your head.

So a good-natured thread marking an actor's birthday gets derailed by your relentless nastiness over his temerity to decline an acting job. For someone who supposedly doesn't give a damn, you make an awful lot of posts castigating the bloke.

Really? Maybe you could link to some of them? And this coming from someone who has an obsessive hatred about Ian Levine and never misses the opportunity to slag him off. My post was very mild compared to a lot of yours.

"Obsessive hatred" is a bit strong. On the rare occasions I am critical of Ian, I usually cite examples of objectionable and/or hilarious things he has actually said or done. Your unprovoked attacks on Chris generally revolve around the notion that he somehow owed fans a return appearance.

So he's not a decent human being and he can't empathise with other people? And you make these preposterous claims simply because he declined an acting job?

They are not unprovoked attacks, they are replying to other posters in a thread. I have never started a thread criticising Eccleston. My posts stand up and are valid within the context that they were made.

How is it "valid" to state that a certain actor is not a decent human being and that he can't empathise with others when you have no credible evidence whatsoever to support such attacks?

Not a decent human being? Lmao.

Someone needs to get some perspective. The world doesn't revolve around a TV show.

Indeed you do. I made a fair, mild comment on a *discussion* forum that he wasn't interested in Who's 50th so I'm not interested in his, and yet I get at least 10 replies having a go at me for doing so. LMAO at your over the top reaction.

You'll get quite used to this feeling after you've been in your mid-twenties for twenty years.

Yet you obviously are interested because you keep posting comments on a thread celebrating the guy's birthday. Still harping on about how the fiend somehow robbed fans by declining The Day of the Doctor last year. Just like Tom Baker wasn't interested in The Five Doctors in 1983. Just like Colin Baker wasn't interested in Time and the Rani in 1987.

Are you going to sour any pleasant threads about Tom or Colin? Or is it just Chris who's so horrible and unempathetic?

How bizarre. I have said nothing of the sort. Why are you making things up to continue your pointless attack on me? I made a one line post, that's all. All the other posts I have made in this thread are in response to ignorant attacks on me like yours. I think it is you with your incessant bleating because someone does not share in your hero worship that has soured the thread.

Ah, yes. Your charming one-line comment, complete with a little "angry face".

What a nice thing to post on a thread wishing someone a happy birthday. You supposedly "don't give a damn", but you still keep bitching about a job offer he rightfully declined.

Why even bother to announce that you don't give a damn? It's quite clearly a whopping lie.
