I don't know what the Judges were watching, but it seemed as those the Girls team were more together and had a more entertaining routine than the Boys team.
For all four to vote for the Boys amazed me.

Agreed, I was under the impression that it was called the "TEAM Challenge" not the "Ray Challenge" because the only good thing about the Boys "Team" was Ray in that routine, they were completely out of sync and far slower than I expected them to be.

It didn't amaze me. The girls routine was very repetitive, however much I enjoyed it. The boys routine had a lot more content so it was a foregone conclusion which way the judges would go.

They had to vote for the boys, so that Beth would be bottom of the leader board. It's obvious what they're trying to do, but it didn't work did it. The public are not fooled by these tactics any more and voted Beth through. Now the judges have lost one of their favourites, Suzanne, by this farce when it should have been Sam and Kyran in the skate off.

They wanted Beth out, so glad she made it through. Go Beth!

I actually thought the boys routine had more skating than the girls. The girls played to Hayley's strengths which is her "arms", and didn't have as many "tricks" as the boys. However, I do think that the girls could have performed a couple of triple salkos and a double axle and they still wouldn't have beaten the boys. The powers that be wanted to save Sam and get rid of Beth. Sadly for Suzanne and happily for Beth fans the whole thing backfired spectacularly tonight.

I actually completely agree with you on that and think that had it been focused on either Beth's or Suzannes strengths then the girls group routine would have been much much better. It was too static and not enough content and too much about the armography etc rather than skating and tricks and any real content although IMO Beth more than proved her worth as she kept up with the others in the performance in it.

The boys I don't know why I didn't really like it I love the song but there was just something just off with the boys routine just can't figure out what as it had everything for it to be great but just found myself watching it going meh.

Agree though the girls could have done everything but the kitchen sink at that routine and all the boys fallen over and they still would have voted for the boys.

Very happy that Beth went through to next weeks show regardless of the judges and guessing that means she had to have a pretty high percentage of the public vote which I'm very happy about.

They couldn't have done that as Hayley wouldn't have been able to do the same moves.

The boys didn't do all the same moves if I remember. They toned down the lifts for Ray too, but did different ones at some point?

It was a complete nonsense because the judges could decide what they wanted to - before anyone went on the ice, and Nicky and Karen would alway favour the male skating. The routine then became what the weakest of the team could do. The judges then ignored the whole aspect of team performance, and ignored the boys being out of sync. They, finally, marked the choregraphy not the performance. And doing that, they marked up the tricks - after telling Ray he didn't need tricks and telling Suzanne and Hayley they both needed more tricks, or less tricks, in different weeks.

It was a completely shambolic exercise - the boys routine just looked more like it.

I personal preferred the girls performance. They had a lot more of their performance in sync with each other, whereas the boys did their moves one after the other so timing wasn't as essential.

The girls was by far superior...but fully expected the judges to give it to the boys..

I liked the girls routine and thought they had great synchronisation, but they had the benefit of having pro skaters to guide them round, keep them spaced correctly, and timing the lifts etc. The boys, on the otherhand, had to do all that, and I thought they did a good job, and although I really HATED the music, I found their routine far more entertaining.

The problem with viewers v judges with the team matches, at any one time, the viewers only get to see what the camera shows them, the judges see the whole picture all the time, and it possibly looks a lot different.

But there was no logical reason for them to do that. This week should have been a week where the weakest one went - probably Kyran now Sam is working at it full time. They had just rebuilt Suzanne as Ray's competition and must have known Hayley and Beth had votes. They have a female competion going where there is no male one - so ending the female one, and continuing the male one made no sense. The big drama was set up for the QF and SF, as they could then get rid of a contender or two in a shock. All they have done, this week, is keep the people who can't contend with Ray, and lost one well placed to at least look like she was.

It can only be explained by total incompetence, or a more detailed plan to get someone they want as runner up to Ray. Why that should matter to them isn't at all clear, or logical either. If they hadn't done the same sort of silly thing last year, hyping Matt L, it would be an incredible thing to do.

Regardless of which team won, it was a ridiculous element to introduce at such a crucial time in the competition. I am sure all of them wanted to get as far as they could as individual contestants, and it should have been only right that each of them leave the competition when its their fair time to go.

Suzanne got a 10 and was way up there on the leader board, and should never have been in the skate off at all. Even if next week had been her time to go in a fair contest, so be it. But to go out this week because of a nonsense decision to DOUBLE the points of contestants way down the board was so stupid.

Depends? Judges on some shows just watch smaller screens. The screen can show close ups the viewer may not see, or may miss. The editing may hide things, or highlight them. The judges may see a different edit. What looks good on Tv, may look wrong from a distance, and vice versa. Its the same with most reality talent shows - judges on some music shows marked on the rehearsal performance - as the studio is too noisy to hear anything.....

I agree that the girls routine was hampered by Hayley's lack of skating ability , and the fact that she can't do the tricks the other girls are capable of!

Too much of Hayley's speciality of armography and not enough actual skating.!

The boys threw everything they had into theirs and had 3 strong skaters doing all the tricks in their armoury!

I also thought the girls' routine was much better than the boys'. Having said that, Ray Quinn is superb...and I love the music he chooses/or is given. Wonderful!

I wasn't particularly impressed with either team performance.
The girls' was repetitive and without many tricks. But at least they kept more or less in sync and it looked okay.
The boys' may have had more tricks, but it was out of sync, skated in slow motion and generally clumsy.

After watching both team performances, I thought that the girls should have won....but wasn't surprised the judges gave it to the boys. But all 4 judges saying the boys' routine was best was a complete giveaway that this had been the foregone conclusion.

A stupid waste of time, simply put in place to save judges' favourites and to take more money from voters by making sure the two skaters with (probably) the biggest voting fan base were in the bottom 2 on the leaderboard.

The girls routine relied a lot on the 'arm dancing', not much actual skating and seemed rather slow over the ice. They had to play to Hayley's strengths as she couldn't match Susanne and Beth's strengths.

The boys routine was more rounded, but still seemed rather slow even with an up tempo song?

Personally I think they saved the boys to keep us guessing the bottom two.

If the girls had won, the bottom two would have been Sam and Kyran so the skate off would have been obvious (unless Sam had pulled a massive vote)

I thought it was the right decision. The girls' routine was all about arm work and being carried around. The boys had more actual skating content.

The girls had barely any together rehearsal time due to Hayley not being around enough so basically Beth and Suzanne were both put at a disadvantage because of this, hardly fair on them!

I preferred the boys routine. I just enjoyed it more. I'm still raging Suzanne is gone though!!
