The judges on some shows may just watch smaller screens, although I hve no idea to which shows you are referring. But on doi they are watching the skating live as it happens in front of them, unlike the tv viewer who can only see what the camera shows them.

I have to say I was expecting the boys to win after I saw the girls routine initially. It was well executed but lacked the punch and pizzazz of group routines I've seen in the past.

However when the boys were done I was underwhelmed. Not only did it not strike a chord with me but they were out of sync (if you watch ray when they spin he's faster than the others - I'm not sure he can do it slower), Kyran could not have been further behind and their general routine fell flat. As individuals the guys are fine but together they had no team unity or synchronicity which I thought was a huge part of the whole challenge.

So I agree the girls should've won but they couldn't. If they did it would have put them at the top of the leader board and Ray in 4th place.

My theory is because Ray is so good and they have to have him in the final they won't take the chance that people won't vote as they don't think he needs it and he's shown to be unpopular in the public vote. It ruins the illusion that he's anything other than a favourite and shows he might not win if it's down to a straight vote.

He has to be top of the leader board no matter what - who goes is inconsequential. I really do believe they wanted to save Suzanne last night but held strictly to their 'mistake' ruling against what they've done in previous shows and in doing so lost someone who was bringing in serious voting (saved each week from being in 5th place). I also think Kyran has been favoured in the past (Zaraah should have stayed) and Chris talked about Kyran's axel he is perfecting earlier in the show. At that point I was sure he wouldn't be going. Suzanne was seemingly not in as much danger as Beth and Hayley so they took the majority of the public votes. However her score was too low to catch up on Sam who got the same general mark as her before the doubling.

I think the only way to fairly judge one team against another is that they both dance the same routine. Then you can tell the differences between the 2 teams.
If you don't do this then people can get swayed by preferring one team's routine over the over's and not how well they danced it.

indeed every single judges comment was about the choregraphy - we preferred the enthusiasm and lively content. But both are decided completely by who wrote the choregraphy. Who did decide to make one routine about synchronisation and limit it to Hayley's moves, and base it on one of her dances, while Ray alone got to show off some bigger tricks ? They then reached the dubious conclusion that shambolic performance equalled enthusiasm. - and rewarded it. They also congratulated Kyran on letting go - without at all noting that Beth was keeping up well with two experienced actors and dancers.

The decision has no credibility at all. Its totally subjective, the judges can pick anyone they want to beforehand, and invent any reason they like.

It just looks like gerrymandering the result, and leaves the impression that you couldn't let thse judges judge a village fete, let alone anything more complicated or serious.
